Inside the Beckham-Peltz Rift: How a Family Feud Between Global Icons Turned into a Full-Blown Celebrity Saga
By: Jerome Brookshire
It’s the kind of high-society drama that feels ripped straight from a prestige soap opera — only this time, the cast includes British royalty-in-the-making, Hollywood elites, and a billionaire dynasty with power stretching from Wall Street to Walt Disney. At the heart of it: Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz Beckham, a couple now reportedly estranged from the Beckham family, amid swirling allegations, emotional confrontations, and a slow-motion breakdown of once-glamorous family ties.
Page Six of the New York Post has learned exclusively that Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, are no longer speaking to his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, due to deepening ties with her billionaire parents, Nelson and Claudia Peltz. Insiders say the split reflects more than just generational friction — it’s a full-scale clash of families, cultures, and brands.
This drama unfolds just as Brand Beckham reaches its zenith. Page Six confirmed that David Beckham is set to receive a knighthood in King Charles’ upcoming birthday honors — a long-coveted accolade for the former footballer turned global icon. Meanwhile, Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham will be stepping further into the spotlight with a new Netflix show chronicling the rise of her fashion empire.
But as their public stock rises, their private bond with their eldest son appears to have unraveled.
According to Page Six sources, the initial cracks began to show during the couple’s opulent wedding at the Peltz estate in Palm Beach in April 2022. Nicola Peltz reportedly ran out of the wedding reception in tears after Latin star Marc Anthony, a friend of the Beckhams, called Victoria “the most beautiful woman in the room” and invited her, not the bride, to dance with Brooklyn. A source close to the Peltz family told Page Six: “Her face was swollen from crying… She finally came back down but was sad the entire evening. Victoria took that moment from her.”
Further complicating matters was a high-profile fashion misfire. Victoria had initially offered to design Nicola’s wedding gown — a symbolic gesture loaded with significance. But ultimately, Nicola walked down the aisle in Valentino Haute Couture, not VB. She later explained that Victoria’s atelier was unable to produce the gown in time. But Page Six reports that Victoria allegedly informed Claudia Peltz of the decision — not Nicola — exacerbating tensions.
A source from the Peltz side defended Nicola, saying, “People keep hitting on Nicola, saying she wouldn’t wear Victoria’s dress, that she was just a spoiled rich girl. But the Peltzes bent over backwards to make things work.”
Amid accusations that Nicola is “controlling” Brooklyn, the couple moved to Los Angeles to pursue independent careers — Brooklyn as the face of his new hot sauce brand, Cloud23, and Nicola as a filmmaker. But according to Page Six, the Beckhams were alarmed when Brooklyn allegedly dropped his last name from the branding of Cloud23.
The tension reportedly deepened in 2022, when Victoria asked Brooklyn to sign a contract tied to the $269 million sale of DB Ventures, David’s brand management company, to Authentic Brands Group. The agreement was designed to protect the Beckham children’s rights to use their family name. But Brooklyn, allegedly under the legal guidance of the Peltzes, refused.
One industry insider clarified to Page Six: “The contract was standard and meant to protect Brooklyn. But by then, he had fired his own advisers and was only listening to the Peltz lawyers — who may not have fully understood, or worse, were being obstructive.”
In public, the Beckhams continued to show support. They hosted a London screening for Nicola’s directorial debut Lola, posed for pictures at Brooklyn’s hot sauce launch at a British grocery store, and even wore Cloud23 merchandise. David posted on Instagram: “We are so proud of you, Bust,” referencing Brooklyn’s childhood nickname.
Nicola, too, tried to project unity, donning a VB bustier and trousers at the Lola LA premiere. Still, fans noticed that Brooklyn had seemingly covered up his “Mama’s Boy” tattoo — a tribute to Victoria — with floral ink modeled after Nicola’s bridal bouquet. Friends claimed the tattoo is intact, but the symbolism wasn’t lost on followers.
The latest sign of estrangement emerged during David Beckham’s milestone 50th birthday celebrations. According to Page Six, David had planned a series of events — from a Miami bash to a fishing trip in Scotland with his sons — and invited Brooklyn and Nicola to everything. But the couple were notably absent from key gatherings, fueling speculation that the rift had become permanent.
Throughout it all, each side has offered radically different accounts. A Beckham insider told Page Six, “Anyone who knows the Beckhams knows they are loving, committed, amazing parents.” Meanwhile, a source close to the Peltzes countered, “Nicola’s only ‘crime’ is marrying Brooklyn — she’s guilty of loving him, nothing else. The only thing we wanted was their love and support.”
What was once viewed as a dream merger of dynasties — the glamorous Beckham brand and the powerful Peltz empire — has morphed into a cautionary tale of fame, family, and fractured loyalties. And with cameras rolling for both Victoria’s Netflix special and Nicola’s rising film career, this family drama might soon get the on-screen treatment it seems destined for.
One thing is certain: when it comes to Brand Beckham, the story behind the headlines is far more complex than the curated Instagram posts suggest. And thanks to Page Six’s exclusive reporting, the world is now seeing the glossy surface begin to crack.
