How NYS Conservative Chairman Kassar Helped Elect Mamdani

Dear Editor:

I am shocked and deeply concerned to see NYS Conservative Chairman Jerry Kassar give the 3rd slot on the ballot to unknown Democrat Irene Estrada in the NYC Mayoral Race, helping elect Zohran Mamdani, whose father glorified suicide bombings.

I felt Chairman Kassar was self-serving since our first phone call, and he only continues to confirm my suspicions. I noted he was largely absent from the fight against Zohran Mamdani, despite living in Brooklyn, but I never expected he would help Mamdani by further splitting the ballot.

Every vote for Irene Estrada helped Mamdani, whose past and policies are deeply troubling.

Mamdani’s father glorifies suicide bombings, his mother says he doesn’t identify as American, and he sings songs praising the Holy Land Five who funded Hamas.

Zohran lies effortlessly, but I see through him. He’s a trained actor who hates American values. It is unconscionable that NYS Conservative Chair Kassar would help Mamdani rather than fight against him.

I live Upstate now, but once lived in Murray Hill. My future campaign manager and I loved going to Sarge’s Deli to talk about business, politics, and life, years before I ran for office. But, it doesn’t matter where you live, Mamdani is a threat to us all.

Chairman Kassar’s decision to split the ballot is either a sign of profound incompetence or a self-serving political decision. Either way, Mr. Kassar and Mr. Mamdani both must go.

Sincerely,
Anthony Constantino

Mamdani’s Enemies on Wall Street?

Dear Editor:

The Democrats of New York City elected Zohran Mamdani, an openly antisemitic Islamist and socialist to be their mayor. This does not bode well for the city that was attacked on 9-11, nor for the rest of us.

He was endorsed by Barak Obama, the president who welcomed the Muslim Brotherhood into his administration.

The west has been under assault since 1928, when Hassan al-Banna formed the Brotherhood in Egypt. Its aim is to replace Infidel societies with a Caliphate. Its headquarters are in Qatar, whose royal family is closely associated with the Mamdani family.

Israel, the ‘Small Satan’, blocks the way to the ‘Great Satan’, America.

Gazans swarmed and ravished southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. 40,000 dormant web-sites sprung into action. Propaganda, flags, placards and tents appeared on campuses the day after.

The organizations behind these radicals are intact. There are sleeper-cells everywhere, awaiting instructions. Mamdani’s election will embolden those planning our demise.

Does Canada Deserve a Taste of Its Own Medicine

Dear Editor:

A woman applying for a Canadian passport recently found herself at the center of an unexpected controversy when she listed “Kfar Saba, Israel” as her place of birth.

That seemingly minor detail provoked an intense discussion among government officials as to which cities should be listed in passports as being in “Israel,” now that Prime Minister Mark Carney has extended diplomatic recognition to the nonexistent “State of Palestine.”

The answer, at least for now, is that four cites are considered “Palestine.” Three are in the areas ruled by the Palestinian Authority—Ramallah, Jenin, and Nablus (Shechem). The fourth is Jerusalem. It’s not clear whether all, or just part, of Israel’s capital is now regarded as “Palestine” by the Canadian government.

If Israel’s foreign ministry were a little less polite, it might give Carney a taste of his own medicine.

For example, a Canadian born in Montreal, who applies for an Israeli passport, might be informed that his or her “place of birth” will be listed as “Tiohtiake, Iroquoian Nation.”

That was the name that the city’s indigenous Iroquoians used. They had been living there for more than 2,000 years when the French explorer Jacques Cartier came along and called it “Mont Royal” (Royal Mountain). The French settlers who later took over the region adopted “Montreal,” a corruption of the original name.

An applicant born in Toronto might be told that “Tkaronto, Mohawk Nation” will be listed on their passport. That was the name the indigenous Mohawks used, as recorded by another French explorer, Samuel de Champlain, in 1615. The British settlers occupied the area in the late 1700s mangled the name and began using “Toronto,” which stuck.

Someone who was born in Ottawa, which today is Canada’s capital, would have their Israeli passport use the location “Adawe, Algonquin Nation.” That was the name the indigenous Algonquins used until the British suddenly showed up in the early 1800s, seized the area, corrupted the name, and declared it to be “Ottawa.”

Perhaps Prime Minister Carney needs to learn something about his country’s history of colonialism, illegal occupation, and callous disregard of the rights of indigenous nations.

Call the Police!

Dear Editor:

Israel’s security forces announced on November 13 that they had captured fifty Hamas terrorists in the Bethlehem area who were planning “imminent terrorist attacks,” including “shootings and bombings.” Numerous weapons were seized.

On October 30, another Arab terrorist was arrested in Bethlehem. He had been released by Israel in one of the recent exchanges with Hamas. He was caught with 25 explosive devices in his possession.

Two days before that, three terrorists from Palestinian Islamic Jihad were killed while shooting at Israeli forces that were pursuing them in Kfar Qud, near Jenin.

And on September 25, two more PIJ terrorists were killed while shooting at Israeli soldiers who were trying to arrest them in the town of Tammun.

All the cities mentioned above—Bethlehem, Kfar Qud, Jenin, Tammun—have been governed by the Palestinian Authority for the past thirty years.

The PA’s police and security forces now have well over 50,000 men, far in excess of the 10,000 permitted by the Oslo accords. They have been trained and equipped by the United States.

One of the PA’s basic obligations under Oslo was to uproot and eliminate the terrorist groups in the territories it controls. Yet thirty years later, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and other terror gangs are still active in those cities. That’s why Israeli forces are occasionally compelled to briefly enter PA areas, in hot pursuit of the terrorists whom the PA has refused to arrest.

The New York Times and other major media outlets frequently assert that the PA security forces assist Israel in combating terrorism. The evidence suggests otherwise.

Sincerely
Prof. Rafael Medoff
