Taking on Jewish Orgs for Not Supporting Jewish Media
Dear Editor,
As a long time reader and sometime contributor to the Jewish Voice, I found the article by David Ben Hooren, entitled, “Jewish Organizations to Jewish Media: Drop Dead” to be timely and literally “right on the money”. In this climate of rising anti-Semitism, it is clear that extraordinary pro- Israel media voices are needed to counter the vicious rhetoric and false narratives of the hate-Israel and hate-Jews crowd. Who would be better suited to do this then the numerous, independent and experienced Jewish newspapers who have been doing Israel advocacy for years, and doing it well?
It is unconscionable and downright foolhardy for leaders of mainstream Jewish organizations like JNF, UJA and Federation to rail about the lack of positive media coverage, bemoaning that American Jews still get most of their Jewish news from the anti-Jewish and anti-Zionist New York Times, while they sit on piles of cash that can help alter this outrageous imbalance of accurate and reliable reporting. If the aforementioned could part with a tiny fraction of their billions of dollars of contributions to help fund and subsidize some of these independent Jewish news outlets, it would help counter some of millions of dollars coming from places like Qatar that fund some of the false “academic” sources, on which the NYT, CNN, MSNBC, the Washington Post and similar outlets so heavily rely.
This can be done on both the print and online platforms with extremely effective and timely effect, countering the pervasive false narratives that fill the minds of our highly impressionable college age generation. This has never been more apparent and more necessary than in this time following the October 7 massacre and Gaza war, where outright lies and ignorance have fueled extensive violent and illegal demonstrations that have turned into vicious Nazi- like rallies.
I have been impressed by the Jewish Voice’s pivoting to an incredible online presence with a WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook and X.com that can provide almost instantaneous video, reporting, facts and figures that can upend the lies of Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran and their fellow travelers. Their connection to the resources of the Israeli government and IDF allows them to provide legitimate, credible facts to counter incredible lies.
Think of how much more they could do for the good of Israel, the soldiers fighting for Israel’s survival as well as for freedom loving and truth seeking Jews and Christians, Americans and Israelis everywhere, if only they had proper funding in this holy and essential endeavor. Yes, “the truth can set you free”, not “my truth” or “your truth”, but THE TRUTH, and only if you have access to it.
Sincerely,
Alan A. Mazurek,MD

Hundreds of Miles of Gaza Tunnels
Dear Editor:
The news that the tunnels under Gaza go for hundreds of miles more than was previously known should remind us that it was a Jewish State Department official, Dennis Ross, who is partly to blame. Ross admitted in a Washington Post op-ed a few years ago that he pressured Israel to let Hamas bring cement into Gaza, supposedly to build houses. Ross said the Israelis were worried the cement would be used for tunnels. But Ross pressured them, and the Israelis finally gave in, and now we see the result.
Yet Ross is still being interviewed by the media as some kind of “expert” to whom we are all supposed to listen respectfully. I think he should be persona non grata in the Jewish community.
Sincerely,

The UN Joins the Litany of Liars
Dear Editor:
I can’t say I was surprised by the news in your January 21st edition that the United Nations denies knowing about the Hamas tunnels. I mean with everything else in this punkt farkert world, should we be surprised? The Palestinian Authority says there was no Holocaust. Congresswomen from “the Squad” deny that Israeli women were sexually assaulted on October 7. Radical-left Jews says that the Israelis are Nazis. It’s just a matter of time before we start hearing people say with a straight face that the earth is flat!
Sincerely,

Jewish Leaders are Asleep at the Wheel
Dear Editor:
I was proud to attend the march for Israel in Washington D.C., and thank you for your coverage of that important event. But that was more than two months ago. Why haven’t there been additional rallies? The anti-Israel forces are on the march every day, while our Jewish organizations are spending their time issuing press releases. Why are Jewish leaders asleep at the wheel?
Sincerely,

To Jewish Congressmen:
NO to a Palestinian State
Dear Editor:
I was appalled to read that some Jewish Congressmen were criticizing the Israeli government for opposing the creation of a Palestinian state. Are they out of their minds? Israel is fighting for its life against an army of 40,000 Palestinian terrorists, and these elected officials think this is the time to boss Israel around and tell it that it should set up a Palestinian state a few miles from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem? I wonder how they would feel if a terrorist state was set up down the block from their posh suburban homes.
Sincerely,
