Trump Regains Access to Facebook & Instagram; Will Do Voter Outreach & Political Fundraising
Edited by: TJVNews.com
Looks like former President Donald Trump will now be permitted to regain access to some social media platforms in order to disseminate his varied messages, according to a report in the NY Post.
Meta Platforms Inc. has restored access to Facebook and Instagram for the nation’s 45th president, Meta spokesperson Andy Stone confirmed on Thursday, following a two-year suspension after the Capitol Hill protests on January 6, 2021, the Post reported.
The Post reported that in January, Meta said it would once again allow Trump to participate on their platform “in the coming weeks” and would institute heightened penalties of a suspension between one month and two years if the former president violated its content policies again, the Post reported.
As Trump gears up for another run for the White House in 2024, having access to Facebook and Instagram will put the former president in a great position as it pertains to reaching out to potential voters and he will have the opportunity to engage in political fundraising for his 2024 re-election campaign. The Post reported that Trump had 23 million followers on Instagram and 34 million on Facebook as of January.
