(Jewish Voice News) Turning Point USA chief executive Erika Kirk has issued a furious and emotional rebuke of what she called “evil” conspiracy theorists who are spreading lurid claims about her organization following the assassination of her husband, Charlie Kirk, as Daily Mail reported.
Erika, who took over as CEO of the conservative nonprofit after Charlie’s death, said she will not tolerate online provocateurs targeting Turning Point staff with accusations she described as both dangerous and dehumanizing. As Daily Mail reported, the conspiracy theories have escalated into direct threats against TPUSA employees, prompting the organization to go on the offensive.
Speaking on Fox News with host Harris Faulkner, Erika made clear she is prepared to absorb attacks personally—but will draw the line when her colleagues are dragged into the fray. “Come after me, call me names, I don’t care,” she said, according to Daily Mail. “But when you go after the people that I love… because somehow they’re in on this? No.”
While Erika did not name Candace Owens directly, Daily Mail reported that Owens has been at the center of the most viral accusations. Owens, once a close friend of Charlie Kirk and a prominent Turning Point USA speaker, has repeatedly suggested that the organization itself bears responsibility for his murder—without explicitly naming Erika.
Owens worked with TPUSA until 2020, when she departed amid internal disagreements over what leadership viewed as increasingly extreme views. Since Charlie Kirk’s death, Daily Mail reported that Owens has intensified claims of internal “betrayal,” challenging the official account of the shooting and questioning whether a lone gunman was responsible.
Charlie Kirk was assassinated on September 10 while speaking at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University. Prosecutors say Tyler Robinson, 22, fired from a rooftop during the speech. Robinson has been charged with murder and allegedly confessed via text messages to his roommate, stating he “had enough of [Kirk’s] hatred” and planned the attack for about a week, as Daily Mail reported.
Federal authorities have repeatedly dismissed claims of broader involvement. FBI Director Kash Patel has publicly stated there is no evidence linking TPUSA, foreign governments, or other entities to the killing. Despite that, online conspiracies have continued to proliferate, including insinuations that Turning Point leadership somehow orchestrated or enabled the assassination, according to Daily Mail.
Erika told Fox News that her anger comes from a sense of duty to her late husband. “This is righteous anger,” she said. “This is not okay. It’s not healthy. This is a mind virus,” Daily Mail reported. She added that confronting the claims is “a duty to my husband” and vowed she would “never back down.”
Owens’ podcast has become a major engine for the controversy. As Daily Mail reported, episodes focused on Kirk’s death regularly attract up to nine million views, with theories evolving from alleged TPUSA sabotage to claims involving Israel, French paratroopers, Egypt’s military, and supposed security lapses—often citing anonymous or unverified sources.
The massive audience has translated into serious money. According to Daily Mail, Owens’ podcast generates up to $10 million annually in advertising revenue, with nearly 60 sponsors still on board despite backlash. Critics, including TPUSA, have accused her of profiting from tragedy while fueling division within conservative circles.
The situation escalated further when Owens urged donors to demand refunds from Turning Point USA, alleging financial improprieties. She claimed the organization missed tax-filing deadlines and improperly spent $8.5 million, allegations that Daily Mail reported were swiftly rebutted by the federal government.
The Treasury Department sent a private letter to Erika Kirk confirming that Turning Point USA is not under investigation and that all four TPUSA-affiliated nonprofits filed their required IRS paperwork on time, according to Daily Mail and CBS News. A senior Treasury official called the allegations “hideous” smears that forced the organization to seek formal clarification.
The feud has also drawn in conservative podcaster Tim Pool, who unleashed a profanity-laced tirade against Owens, accusing her of spreading lies that could destroy Turning Point USA, as Daily Mail reported. Owens responded by questioning Pool’s mental state and urging followers to pray for him.
Despite the chaos, Erika Kirk says the organization is pressing forward. TPUSA has reported a surge in support and new chapter inquiries since the assassination, and Erika has pledged to continue her husband’s mission, including campus events and the annual AmericaFest conference in Phoenix, as Daily Mail reported.
