(Free Beacon) Democrats and Biden administration officials remain adamant that the president is “sharp” and capable of leading the free world. He hasn’t made it easy for them to make that case.

Joe Biden’s mental acuity has faced fierce scrutiny since a special counsel report last week claimed that Biden “did not remember when he was vice president” and described him as “a well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” In a White House press briefing Monday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre pushed back against the report, saying, “He is sharp, he is on top of things.”

But Biden has only fueled concerns about his health since the release of the report, providing his characteristic gaffes at a steady pace. Last week, in a press conference addressing the special counsel report where Biden insisted on his mental fitness, the president mistakenly referred to Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah el-Sisi as the “president of Mexico.”
