(TJV NEWS) Radical communist Zohran Mamdani, who stunned the political establishment with a surprise Democratic primary win, is now struggling to hold his ground in New York City’s mayoral race, according to a new HarrisX poll released Tuesday.

The poll reveals Mamdani locked in a statistical dead heat with former Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa—raising fresh doubts about his ability to convert a far-left primary victory into a citywide mandate. Mamdani clocks in at 26%, with Cuomo close behind at 23% and Sliwa at 22%. Incumbent Mayor Eric Adams trails with just 13%. With the poll’s 4.1% margin of error, Mamdani’s lead is razor-thin and far from secure.

The numbers signal a seismic shift in New York City politics. Traditionally, the Democratic primary winner coasts into the mayor’s office. But Mamdani’s radical socialist platform—featuring proposals like free public buses and city-owned supermarkets—has yet to win over the broader electorate.
