(NEWSMAX) Qatar’s Foreign Ministry on Tuesday rejected Tucker Carlson’s claim that Saudi Arabia and Qatar had apprehended and “arrested Israeli Mossad agents planning bombings in those countries.”

“In regards to your question on the Mossad cell we do not have any information on this matter at the moment,” spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari said during a briefing that focused on Iranian strikes and air defense activity, Doha News reported.

Carlson made the claim Monday on his show.

“Why would the Israelis be committing bombings in Gulf countries, which are also being attacked by Iran?” he said. “Aren’t they on the same side?

“Israel wants to hurt Iran — and Qatar, and the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain, and Oman, and Kuwait,” he added.

His remarks come amid ongoing U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran.

Tehran has retaliated by hitting several countries and U.S. military bases in the region.

Qatar has intercepted Iranian attacks that targeted civilian infrastructure, including the international airport, Al-Ansari told CNN on Monday, adding that such attacks could not remain unanswered.

Al-Ansari also said Qatar was not engaging with Iran at this time.

Qatar’s top diplomat “categorically rejected” that claim and called for an immediate halt to Iran’s attacks, Al-Ansari said on ‌X.

“This cannot go unanswered, a price has to be paid for this attack on our people,” he said Monday.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman said his country would confront any aggression with its “right to self-defense,” stressing that Doha has always been inclined towards dialogue and diplomacy conducted in good faith.
