Democrats should take a good, hard look at two new polls before they follow colleague Sen. Chris Van Hollen straight off a political cliff.

The Democratic Maryland senator finally got his wish Thursday evening: a photo-op with deported illegal alien Kilmar Abrego Garcia in El Salvador. The simpatico pair is also now on a first-name basis. Heartwarming, indeed. (Subscribe to MR. RIGHT, a weekly newsletter about modern masculinity)

The Trump administration mistakenly deported Abrego Garcia to El Salvador due to a clerical error, but maintain that he should remain in the Central American country because of his connection to notorious gang MS-13. On Wednesday, the Department of Justice published a dossier detailing his ties to the gang, while the Department of Homeland Security released a document showing that his wife, Jennifer Vasquez Sura, once sought a domestic violence restraining order against him in 2021.

House and Senate Democrats are probably looking on at Van Hollen in envy. He’s a hero to illegal aliens everywhere, shooting up to national stardom, raking in the fundraising dollars, and taking a vacation in a Central American paradise (likely) on the taxpayer dime. That could’ve been me!

But before they try to emulate, or at least support, Van Hollen’s crusade, they should think twice.

According to a new CNBC survey, President Donald Trump has a net +7 approval on his policy of deporting illegal aliens. The president also has a net +12 approval on his handling of the southern border. (RELATED: Democrats Swallow A Political Poison Pill)

Like lemmings, many Democrats, rushing to defend Abrego Garcia, have plummeted off a cliff. But those who have withheld judgment should continue to do so. The polls tell a different story from the media’s narrative: the supposedly upstanding, wholesome, All-American Maryland man should be deported for good.

  1. Abrego Garcia was not allowed due process before deportation. The issue is not poll results on illegal aliens but whether the Constitution is
being followed. There is a lot of legal ground to be covered before someone is deported. Especially when it is reportedly due to an admitted “clerical error.”
