Trump Touts “America First” Agenda in Michigan, Slams Elites and Promises Auto Jobs Revival

(TJV NEWS) Former President Donald Trump struck a familiar populist tone on Tuesday during his first 100 days speech, taking direct aim at globalist elites and the political establishment for “bleeding America dry.”

Speaking before a packed crowd in Macomb County, Michigan—a critical battleground for blue-collar support—Trump blasted the “sick political class” that he said prioritized foreign interests over American workers.

“After years of leaders who sent your money to defend the borders of distant foreign nations—fighting for other countries but not for ourselves—you finally have a president who is defending our borders and our nation,” Trump declared.

He directly appealed to Detroit-area workers who have witnessed manufacturing jobs outsourced overseas, particularly to China.

“After decades of politicians who destroyed Detroit to build up Beijing, you finally have a champion for workers in the White House,” Trump said. “Instead of putting China first, I’m putting Michigan first—and I’m putting America first.”

Union workers, especially in industrial regions like Macomb County, form a key pillar of Trump’s 2024 campaign strategy. His policies—ranging from enacting tariffs and cutting regulations to revoking Biden-era electric vehicle mandates—are aimed at fueling a resurgence in American manufacturing.

At the start of his remarks, Trump promised an influx of new auto industry jobs for Michigan.

“I love this state, and a lot of auto jobs are coming. Watch what’s happening,” he said. “The companies are coming in by the tens. They all want to come back to Michigan and build cars again. You know why? Because of our tax and tariff policy.”

“They’re coming from all over the world,” he added. “They’re opening up plants, and they’re talking to us all day and all night.”
