(TJV NEWS) President Donald Trump has directed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to immediately stop immigration raids on undocumented workers employed in agriculture, hotels, and restaurants, according to a report first confirmed by NewsNation and The Gateway Pundit.

The shift in enforcement strategy comes after Trump posted on Truth Social Thursday, expressing concern that tough immigration measures were harming key American industries reliant on immigrant labor.

“Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace,” Trump wrote.
“This is not good. We must protect our Farmers, but get the CRIMINALS OUT OF THE USA. Changes are coming!”

The policy change was confirmed on Saturday, when NewsNation reported that ICE officials were instructed to suspend workplace enforcement operations specifically targeting farms, meatpacking facilities, restaurants, and operational hotels.

According to an internal memo obtained by The New York Times, ICE senior official Tatum King told regional leaders:

“Effective today, please hold on all work site enforcement investigations/operations on agriculture (including aquaculture and meat packing plants), restaurants, and operating hotels.”

King also acknowledged that the directive will result in fewer deportations overall:

We acknowledge that by taking this off the table, that we are eliminating a significant number of potential targets.”

The memo did clarify that ICE agents may still pursue investigations involving “human trafficking, money laundering, [and] drug smuggling into these industries.” However, it specifically forbade agents from arresting what are known as “noncriminal collaterals”—individuals who are undocumented but not accused of any other crime.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed its compliance with the president’s directive.

“We will follow the president’s direction and continue to work to get the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens off of America’s streets,” said DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

The announcement comes amid escalating protests and riots in cities like Los Angeles, where ICE enforcement actions have sparked major unrest. Demonstrators have voiced opposition not just to immigration raids, but also to broader domestic and foreign policy concerns, adding to the pressure on the administration to recalibrate its immigration enforcement approach

  1. This is complete bulls**t. Selecting certain industries for selective enforcement of immigration laws is unjust. There are plenty of LEGAL immigrants to employ. Very dissapointed in Trump on this one.
