New Yorkers are used to being overworked and under rested, so it’s no surprise we need to be encouraged to find and make time for exercise.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is introducing measures to remind New Yorkers to get outside and move. According to an exclusive Nee York Post report, the health-conscious mayor called for a “cultural shift” away from driving to take place in the Big Apple as he unveiled a new plan to limit cars on a stretch of Broadway in Manhattan’s Flatiron District.

“There’s a cultural shift that must take place in the city. And when you look at the number of drivers, the number of pedestrians that walk clearly outnumbers the number of drivers,” he said.

Inspired by his own health, diet, and fitness journey, The 62-year-old Democrat, who switched to a mostly vegan diet after being diagnosed with diabetes — and who told The Post in 2021 it helped him lose 35 pounds — encouraged New Yorkers to get moving, even by taking the train instead of driving. “I am encouraging people to get out of their cars, you know, we have the best transportation system — the MTA, I’m on a train all the time. I’m encouraging people, you know, we need to exercise,” he said to reporters from The New York Post.

“We’re too stationary — let’s get on our bikes, let’s walk, let’s skateboard,” Adams continued. “I’m hoping that people realize that vehicles are not the only way to get around.”

“We’re gonna always be is a city or country where vehicles are going to be used, but we need to minimize them,” Adams, the former Brooklyn borough president, said Sunday.

“You know, in this city, our transportation system can take you wherever you want to go. And we’re doing it in a safe way.”

And while New York City is in better shape pound for pound than the rest of the country, sobering city statistics show an obesity epidemic in the boroughs, where, according to The New York Post, nearly half of all school children and more than half of adults are overweight.

Mayor Eric Leroy Adams was born September 1, 1960 and is an American politician and former police officer, serving as the 110th mayor of New York City since January 1, 2022. Adams was an officer in the New York City Transit Police and then the New York City Police Department for more than 20 years, retiring at the rank of captain. He served in the New York State Senate from 2006 to 2013, representing the 20th Senate district in Brooklyn. In November 2013, Adams was elected Brooklyn Borough President, the first African American to hold the position, and reelected in November 2017.

The COVID pandemic changed million of Americans forever. Terrified civilians are still wearing masks, even though science has proven they do not work and cases of COVID have dropped to next to none. Many New Yorkers are still working from home and Adams has repeatedly tried to convince people to come back to the office. People quiver in terror if someone sneezes or coughs in their vicinity.

Meanwhile, many New Yorkers are literally scared of working out and strenuous activity because of the thousands of reports of people dropping dead while playing sports, which are being connected to the COVID vaccines by daring reporters and researchers such as Dr Robert Malone.

“Look, I know the COVID vaccine is killing people, you see the videos of young people and athletes dropping dead,” said Jim Kelly.
