Dilaver Berk, who moved to the U.S. last year to support his family back home, suffered life-threatening injuries after being stabbed repeatedly in the neck and choked with a cable during the attack. The assailant, later identified as 19-year-old Antwain Williams, dumped Berk onto the pavement and stole his vehicle.
After a dramatic police pursuit, Williams was apprehended. Authorities revealed he was not only responsible for the brutal attack but also had an outstanding warrant for child sex crimes.
Berk is now recovering in the hospital, leaning on his friends and family for support, as he begins to heal from the devastating ordeal.
