After the despicable farce of Sen. Schumer’s speech, part of the Biden administration’s pressure campaign on Israel, the Hamas supporters are making it clear that it’s still not enough.
Back in December, CAIR boss Nihad Awad, who had a long history of defending Hamas, celebrated Oct 7.

“The people of Gaza only decided to break the siege, the walls of the concentration camp, on October 7. And yes, I was happy to see people breaking the siege and throwing down the shackles of their own land, and walk free into their land, which they were not allowed to walk in. And yes, the people of Gaza have the right to self-defense, have the right to defend themselves, and yes, Israel, as an occupying power, does not have that right to self-defense.”
Thanks to MEMRI, the same organization that the Biden administration condemned for exposing the Hamas support among the political elite in Dearborn, MI, the epicenter of the “uncommitted” vote that Biden bowed to, Awad’s remarks were caught on video.
Back then, the Biden White House appeared to condemn “these shocking, Antisemitic statements in the strongest terms.”
“The atrocities of that day shock the conscience, which is why we can never forget the pain Hamas has caused for so many innocent people,” White House spokesman Andrew Bates said.
Now, the Biden administration came crawling to CAIR only to get turned down.
High-level visit: Tom Perez, a senior adviser to the president, and other advisers had planned to sit down in three separate meetings with various Palestinian, Arab and Muslim leaders and elected officials to talk about tensions in the Middle East. The private meetings were to come on the heels of similar gatherings in Detroit.
But most folks contacted turned down the request, according to six people we talked to. Any meeting being held will be with a smaller group of players.
“We believe a thousand percent in civic engagement. We preach it,” CAIR-Chicago Director Ahmed Rehab told Playbook about why he declined to attend.
The Biden administration had already held and tried to hold meetings with open Hamas supporters, but this is a graphic example of the administration begging to meet with the very group whose “antisemitic statements” it condemned.
So the split screen reality is while the Biden administration dispatches Sen. Schumer to berate Jews for wanting to defeat Hamas, it’s doing the song and dance to win over groups it called “antisemitic” a few months ago.
And what’s CAIR boss Nihad Awad saying?
“Our message [to President Biden] is as follows: ‘Allah willing, our votes will make you lose the presidency.’ It is [also] a message to [the Democratic] Party: ‘You went too far, you listened to him, and did not draw the line, so you will lose the presidency.’
CAIR’s message to Biden is that it’s time for a ‘Come-to-Allah’ moment.
