Chevra Shas of the Aur Torah Sephardic Minyan Commemorates the Completion of Meschtas Chagigah with a Festive Siyum Celebration

On January 10, 2023, at the Aur Torah Sephardic Minyan of Staten Island located in the New Springville section of Staten Island, the Chevra Shas of the Aur Torah Sephardic Minyan Commemorated the Completion of Meschtas Chagigah with a Festive Siyum Celebration. The Siyum was sponsored by Yoel Delouya & Oshri Reuven, President of the Shul. The Siyum was dedicated in honor of Rabbi Aharon Zeev, the esteemed Mara Datra of the Aur Torah Sephardic Minyan.
“We as a Chevra Shas are inspired by our Rabbi to come to Shul and to Daven and to spend time with him in learning Gemorah. Before we began Gemorah Chagigah we expressed an interest in learning about the various Korbonot offered on the Shalosh Regalim, the three Festivals of Pesach, Shavous and Sukkot, and hence a plan was developed to learn Gemorah Chagigah. We as a collective group cannot thank enough our great Rabbi and teacher Rabbi Aharon Zeev for agreeing to learn Chagigah with us. Although, not an easy Mecschta, Rabbi Zeev took the patience to break down the most difficult concepts and to teach it to us in a format that we were able to comprehend. We as a Chevra Shas are so impressed by this accomplishment that we are inspired to continue learning in depth the entire Talmud and look forward to completing Shas with our Rabbi,” so said Oshri Reuven, President, Aur Torah Sephardic Minyan.”
Rabbi Zeev remarked, “as a Rabbi my greatest enjoyment is to teach and learn Torah with my congregants. The Chevra Shas gives me this wonderful Zichus. The members of the Chevra Shas are highly intelligent people who have a strong desire to learn Torah. These accomplished individuals are not mere students, but are my Chavrusas as well. They bring a passion and enjoyment to learning that made the tackling of the various Korbonot of the Shalosh Regalim refreshing, enjoyable and an exciting experience that made our goal of mastering Meschtas Chagigah a reality. I am proud to say with great pride, delight and jot that this dedicated Chevra Shas has what it takes to accomplish the mastery of the entire Talmud and I look forward to making a Siyum with the Chevra Shas on the entire Shas.”
