The Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC), a leading Jewish Human Rights NGO is urging Germany and the United Kingdom to vote against a UN Human Rights Council resolution which would legitimizes the fatally-flawed Durban process. The vote is currently slated for Monday morning October 11th at UN Headquarters in Geneva.

“Last month, Germany and the UK correctly voted against the Durban IV Declaration at the UN General Assembly because it builds on the 2001 Durban Conference which was dominated by horrific anti-Semitism,” said Rabbi Abraham Cooper the SWC’s Associate Dean and Director of Global Social Action, who served as spokesman for Jewish groups at the ill-fated UN World Conference against Racism in Durban South Africa just before 9/11.

“Allowing the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva to now rehabilitate and promote the fatally-flawed Durban legacy at a time of raging hate crimes against Jews on both sides of the Atlantic, would further legitimize the mainstreaming of history’s oldest virus, anti-Semitism. We urge Berlin and London to (again) vote NO.”
