According to NYPD, there have been 80 anti-Semitic hate crime reports made this year, compared to 62 in the same period last year. They have stepped up patrols in Jewish communities, especially in orthodox Jewish neighborhoods where the visibility of traditional Jewish clothing increases the likelihood of attack, NPR reported.

According to the WSJ, the FBI has joined forces with the NYPD to address the hate crimes, against Jews, which have drastically up ticked since the start of the “free Palestine” movement which has exploded since the tensions in Israel peaked in May.

WSJ reported: NYPD figures show hate crimes against Jews in New York City surged in May, reversing a fall in such crimes from earlier in the year. The NYPD counted 26 anti-Semitic hate crimes from May 2 to 23, up from four crimes in that period last year.

TJV interviewed one of the most visible victims of anti-Semitic hate which was driven by the “free Palestine” movement, Joseph Borgen, who’s attack went viral on social media after he was beaten up by a group of maniacal anti-Israel supporters in May.

“I felt a liquid being poured on my face and at first I thought I was getting urinated on, but it turned out I was getting maced and pepper sprayed. My face was on fire. That pain was worse than the concussion and all this other stuff that followed,” said Borgen from his home where he is recuperating from multiple injuries, he sustained including a black eye, a concussion and bruises all over his body.

“I got off the subway at 6:30 and started walking to the rally and even texted a friend to say that I am on my way. Before I could even make it to the rally, a few blocks away, a guy started chasing me. I tried to get away, and the next thing I knew, I was surrounded by a whole crowd of people who proceeded to kick me, punch me, beat me down,” he said.

TJV reported: In the conversation with the Jewish Voice, Borgen said that he really appreciated the outpouring of support that he has received since this horrific event. “One detective who is working on this case told me that he hasn’t slept since it happened, and he is totally committed to bringing the others in the gang to justice. For that and much more, I am exceptionally grateful,” he said.

The NYPD recorded 226 hate crimes in the city from Jan. 1 through May 23, a 93% increase from 117 reported during the same period last year. Police officials have said the true number of hate crimes in the city is probably higher because many such crimes go unreported, WSJ pointed out.

WSJ reported: The FBI intensified a public-relations campaign to encourage reporting of such crimes to authorities in New York. The push includes posters with instructions for reporting hate crimes in languages including Yiddish, Hebrew and Mandarin.

Hate crimes have also drastically increased against Asian Americans in major cities, while the main stream media has repeatedly tried to blame former president Trump for the violence, there is literally no evidence to support their talking point
