New York’s most famed pooches, who draw lucrative sponsorship deals for their owners, give fresh implication to the word fur-niture. These dogs are a far cry from most of the estimated 600,000 dogs living in New York City.

As per a recent article in the NY Post, these star pooches have claimed possession over their humans’ apartments, owning the beds, couches, closets and dressers for their impressive canine costumes and regalia.

Take Maxine, a 5-year-old corgi, living it up in a duplex in Bed-Stuy.  With a whopping 750,000 followers on Instagram account @madmax_fluffyroad, Maxine rules their home and her humans- Bryan Reisberg, 32, and Alex Garyn, 31, creative director and director of planning for a wellness brand.  The couple spends their down time pampering the poodle, managing the insta account, recording the pouch on video, selling Maxine-related merchandise to loyal fans, and working on a kid’s book about Maxine.  “I’m pretty sure Maxine knows she’s famous,” Reisberg said. “I choose to believe that’s where her attitude comes from. She’s a diva.”

Another rising star is Charlie, the 8-year-old bichon poodle, and his roommate, Sawyer, a 5-year-old goldendoodle.  They share 136,000 followers on the Instagram account @puppynamedcharlie, which has led them to pooch perks galore. They live in an apartment on the Upper East Side with their human, 32-year-old Paige Chernick.  The mutts enjoy their La-Z-Boy-brand dog couch and beds and have their portraits hanging up on the walls of the apartment.  They take up most of the apartments’ closet space with their many jackets, sweaters and accessories including their own namesake bathrobes.

Another celebrity pooch is Sprout, a 5-year-old Brussels griffon, boasting 177,000 fans subscribed to his account @brussels.sprout. He lives in a luxury pad in Chelsea, with Sigrid Neilson, a 39-year-old lawyer and proud dog lover.  Their apartment is “a homage to his love of napping,” says Neilson, who notes that they have four pooch beds and a crate, plush blankets and a teepee for him to doze comfortably. This of course, didn’t stop Sprout from demanded his human’s bed and couch as his own too.

Yet another celebrity, Tinkerbelle, a 9-year-old Papatese, lives in Midtown with her human, Sam Carrell.  The four-legged boss lady has 469,000 Instagram followers via @tinkerbellethedog, which is also a registered trademark.  The pooch, along with her little sister Belle, enjoys a bed in every room, two sets of doggie stairs, a pink couch in the living room, a private bathroom potty pad, and her own armoire bursting with posh clothes and accessories.
