(TJV NEWS) Two progressive organizations with financial ties to George and Alexander Soros’s network of nonprofits are behind a legal challenge that has temporarily halted former President Donald Trump’s efforts to deport hundreds of thousands of migrants paroled into the United States under the Biden administration’s policies, Breitbart reported.

In March, Trump moved to revoke the parole status of approximately 532,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela who were allowed to enter and remain in the U.S. without legal status under President Biden’s parole program. Migrants affected were instructed to either leave voluntarily or face removal by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Breitbart reported.

The Justice Action Center and Human Rights First—two groups with a history of receiving millions in funding from Soros-backed Open Society Foundations—filed a lawsuit claiming Trump lacks the authority to overturn Biden’s mass parole program.

This week, Judge Indira Talwani, appointed by President Obama, sided with the plaintiffs by issuing a stay on the policy change. Her ruling prevents the Trump administration from ending parole en masse for these migrants without individualized case reviews, Breitbart reported.

The Justice Action Center received $450,000 in 2023 from the Open Society Foundations for general operational support, while Human Rights First was awarded nearly $6.2 million between 2016 and 2021, Breitbart reported.

This is not the first time Soros-funded organizations have targeted Trump’s immigration policies in court. Last month, Breitbart reported that another Soros-affiliated group, Democracy Forward, was part of a separate legal effort aimed at blocking Trump from using the Alien Enemies Act to remove illegal alien gang members from the U.S.
