BLOODY BROOKLYN RAMPAGE: Man Butchers Four Young Girls with Meat Cleaver Before Being Shot by Cops
(TJV NEWS) A quiet Sunday morning in Brooklyn turned into a nightmare as a man went on a deranged, bloody rampage, slashing four young girls with a meat cleaver before being gunned down by police, officials said.
According to reporting by the New York Post, the attack erupted just after 10 a.m. inside a home on 84th Street in Bensonhurst. A terrified and injured 11-year-old girl managed to lock herself in a room and call 911, frantically telling the dispatcher that her uncle had attacked her and her siblings.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch detailed the harrowing moment officers arrived: “At that point, [the cops] heard screams coming from behind the door to their left and immediately began forcing their way into the apartment, kicking down the door,” she said during a press briefing at the scene.
What they found was straight out of a horror film.
Inside stood Lun Chang Chen, 49, wielding a blood-soaked meat cleaver, according to police. Blood stained the floor. Officers gave multiple commands to drop the weapon, but Chen allegedly refused and advanced toward them. That’s when two officers opened fire, discharging seven rounds and striking him, ending the savage assault.
All four girls — ages 8, 11, 13, and 16 — were rushed to Maimonides Medical Center with “serious slash and stab wounds,” Tisch said. Miraculously, all are expected to survive.
Photos obtained by the NY Post show one girl completely drenched in blood as she fled the building. Another witness, a neighbor named Maria, recounted the terror: “I was watching through the window and the girl covered in blood came out… I was shaking. I’m still shaking now.”
Tisch also revealed a fifth child — a young boy — was in the apartment at the time but escaped to get help.
The suspect, believed to have lived in the home, is in critical condition at a local hospital. Officials say the motive remains unclear. It’s not yet confirmed whether Chen was the father or uncle of the victims.
“This could have ended very differently,” Tisch noted solemnly. “The officers’ quick action saved lives.”
State Assemblyman Lester Chang said one of the victims may have been a babysitter. The investigation into the horrifying attack is ongoing.
