Hamas Releases Propaganda Video Featuring Hostages Yair and Eitan Horn

Hamas Releases Propaganda Video Featuring Hostages Yair and Eitan Horn

By: Fern Sidman

A recently released propaganda video by Hamas has sparked renewed outrage and urgency in the ongoing efforts to secure the release of Israeli hostages that still remain in Hamas captivity in Gaza. The footage, which surfaced on Saturday, depicts brothers Yair and Eitan Horn embracing in what appears to be a Hamas underground tunnel, just before Yair’s release a few weeks ago. VIN News reported that the Horn family has allowed the video to be shared with the public, highlighting the painful separation of families and the dire conditions of those still being held hostage.

The VIN News report detailed how in the video, Eitan expresses his distress over being left behind while his brother is set to return to Israel. “I am very happy to see that my brother is being released, but this is not logical, in any way, to separate families,” he stated, pleading for the release of all hostages. The emotional exchange between the brothers calls attention to the cruel psychological warfare that Hamas continues to engage in, using captives as leverage to manipulate public sentiment and pressure the Israeli government. VIN News further reported that as Yair prepared to leave, Eitan exhorted him to tell their parents and supporters to continue demonstrating and pushing the government to finalize a second-phase deal that would secure the release of the remaining hostages.

Since Yair’s return as part of the first phase of the ceasefire deal on February 15, he has become a vocal advocate for his brother’s release. The VIN News report quoted the Horn family’s emotional statement, in which they describe the devastation of watching their sons forcibly separated. “Our heart is torn from seeing Eitan in this difficult situation, where he is separated from his brother who is being released, and he remains held in the hell that is Hamas, for 512 days,” they said. The family highlighted the fear and despair visible in Eitan’s eyes, stressing how deeply Yair has been affected since returning home, unable to rest as long as his brother and the other hostages remain in captivity.

The Horn family has issued an urgent plea to Israel’s leadership, urging them to complete the agreement that has already facilitated the return of several hostages, according to the information provided in the VIN News report. “We demand from those making the decisions to look Eitan in the eyes. Don’t stop the agreement that has already brought dozens of abductees back to us,” the family stated. Their message is clear: time is running out, and immediate action must be taken to bring all the hostages home in one collective effort.

In addition to the Horn brothers, the report on VIN News confirmed that the family of Nimrod Cohen has also identified him in the same Hamas video, despite the terrorist group’s attempts to obscure his identity. This revelation further exposes Hamas’s continued use of psychological manipulation, forcing hostages to participate in propaganda aimed at disrupting Israeli efforts to secure their release.

The Israeli government has condemned the latest Hamas video, with the Prime Minister’s Office releasing a statement on X (formerly Twitter). “The terrorist organization Hamas released another cruel propaganda video this evening, in which our hostages are forced to engage in psychological warfare,” the statement reads. VIN News also reported that the Israeli government reaffirmed its commitment to securing the return of all hostages and achieving its war objectives, emphasizing that it would not be deterred by Hamas’s tactics.

The kidnapping of Yair and Eitan Horn dates back to October 7, 2023, when Hamas terrorists infiltrated Kibbutz Nir Oz and abducted them from Yair’s home. VIN News reported that, according to freed hostages, the brothers were held together throughout their captivity and remained in good health. However, the forced separation has inflicted deep emotional wounds, reinforcing the urgency of efforts to ensure Eitan’s safe return.

The video, though deeply distressing, has only intensified calls for action. As protests persist and negotiations remain ongoing, the families and their supporters demand that the Israeli government leave no one behind—insisting that all hostages must be brought home in one decisive move.
