(TJV NEWS) The ongoing massacre of Alawites and Christians in Syria continues largely unnoticed by mainstream media, despite mounting death toll estimates ranging between 7,000 and 17,000. Reports from various sources indicate that the targeted killings have escalated, with little global intervention.

According to Greek City Times, Greek Member of the European Parliament Nikolas Farantouris, who serves on the European Parliament’s Committee on Security & Defense, reported that more than 7,000 Christians and Alawites have been “slaughtered” in Syria. His statements come after a visit to Damascus on March 8-9.

Armenian Christian YouTuber Kevork Almassian provided further harrowing details, stating that Syrian President Mohammed Al-Jolani had dispatched Al-Qaeda-linked forces to Latakia to suppress Alawite civilians under the pretense that they were remnants of the Assad regime. “Kids, children, newborn babies, women, and men have been executed in daylight in the streets, all documented on video because the goal is not only to kill, but to take pleasure in the act,” Almassian said.

Adding to the controversy, the Biden administration’s State Department recently removed a $10 million reward for Syrian President Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, who leads Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), an Al-Qaeda-affiliated group. The reward’s removal followed a meeting between U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Barbara Leaf and HTS leaders in Damascus on December 20, as noted by the Gateway Pundit.

U.S. journalist Pamela Geller of the Geller Report has cited figures of nearly 17,000 dead and 15,000 missing. She has reportedly received “hundreds of emails from people in Syria begging for help.” In one such plea, desperate Alawites described their plight:

“We, the Alawites on the Syrian coast, are facing extermination. Ethnic and religious cleansing is unfolding before the world’s silent eyes. They are burning our homes, slaughtering our families, and torturing our children. They rip out the eyes of our young, tear out their hearts, and leave their lifeless bodies as warnings.”

The message continues, “Foreign fighters, coming from all regions, are hunting us down. They are invading our homes, destroying our existence, and soon, they will reach us all. The world watches in silence because we are a minority—because we are deemed expendable.”

Further evidence of atrocities has surfaced through video footage, allegedly showing a terrorist militia commander instructing his fighters not to document the massacres. “We are going to enter (attack), we don’t want to photograph anything. Anyone takes photographs will be held accountable, you have to give up your phones,” the commander is heard saying.

Syrian journalist and human rights activist Nizar Nayouf has also reported that approximately 15,000 Alawites have been executed. According to Nayouf, the massacre was premeditated as early as February 24, with the Syrian “Ministry of Defense” and terrorist militia leaders distributing detailed digital maps marking Alawite, Christian, and Ismaili communities along the Syrian coast. These maps allegedly identified primary and secondary access routes to the targeted areas.

Nayouf further claimed that religious clerics aligned with President Al-Jolani had provided instruction to militia leaders on distinguishing Alawites from other groups. Due to circumcision similarities with Sunni Muslims, identifying Alawites reportedly required dialect-based assessments in some areas.

The crisis in Syria continues to escalate, with reports of religious and ethnic cleansing being widely ignored by major international media outlets. The silence of the global community remains deafening as thousands continue to perish in an ongoing humanitarian catastrophe.
