National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and United States Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff met with Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu hours before meeting President Trump today. The meeting was part of Netanyahu’s US trip to discuss the second phase of the recently signed hostage deal and other related issues of the war. After the meeting, Waltz and Witkoff held a ten-minute press gaggle outside the White House answering reporters’ questions. Asked about the president’s desire to relocate those living in Gaza to other countries including Jordan and Egypt, Waltz responded as reported by The Jerusalem Post, “We have to collectively solve this problem for this war that Hamas started. And what has happened to these people that Hamas was willing to sacrifice to turn global opinion against Israel. But now, we have to collectively come up with some problems, and I think the president has taken a very common sense approach.”
Waltz also stated that the administration was looking at the “number of allies” in the Middle East to assist in efforts to relocate Gazans. Witkoff elaborated on Trump’s recent talk on possible relocation plans, “When Trump talks about ‘cleaning’ Gaza out, he means making it inhabitable. This is a long-range plan.” Waltz and Witkoff estimate it could take at least 15 years to rebuild Gaza. Witkoff notably stated that the recent deal “… wasn’t such a wonderful agreement that was first signed. That was not dictated by the Trump administration. We had nothing to do with it.”
Witkoff in recent weeks has been criticized for having close connections with Qatar, who has been involved in negotiations between Hamas and Israel. Yahoo News reported from the Israel-based network Yediot Aharonot that some Israeli officials suspect Witkoff of being in bed with the Qataris, the report stated, “The Qataris whisper in his ear and are liable to excessively influence him.”
With Witkoff skeptical of the deal, new hope for better conditions for the Israelis are being realized.
As part of the press gaggle, Witkoff also answered questions about the 2nd and 3rd phases of the deal which pledged to rebuild Gaza within five years. The Jewish News Syndicate (JNS) quotes Witkoff, “In any city of the United States of America, if you had damage that was 100th of what I saw in Gaza. Nobody would be allowed to go back to their homes. That’s how dangerous it is. There’s 30,000 unexploded munitions. Buildings that could tip over at any moment. There’s no utilities there whatsoever. No working water. Electric. Gas. Nothing. God knows what kind of disease might be festering there.” Waltz added to Witkoff that, “President Trump is looking at this from a humanitarian standpoint. You have these people that are sitting with literally thousands of unexploded ordinance and piles of rubble. At some point, we have to look realistically, how do you rebuild Gaza? What does that look like? What is the timeline? A lot of people were looking at very unrealistic timelines. We’re talking 10-15 years.”
As a result of the upheaval in the Middle East since October 7th, the geopolitical map has been reoriented from Syria, and Lebanon to Iran, Waltz credited Netanyahu with the developments saying, “But there are so many opportunities now in the region, largely thanks to Prime Minister Netanyahu and Israeli leadership. Hezbollah destroyed. We have President Aoun, what many people thought was an impossibility, now in charge in Lebanon. You have the dictator Assad gone and hiding in Russia. You have Iran really, in many ways, on its back foot.” However, Waltz recognized the outstanding issues that remain including the next stages of the hostage deal, and US military presence in the Middle East against the Houthis, “rightly, our discussions will be focused on the future of Gaza, the destruction of Hamas and of course getting our folks out… We need to handle and deal with the issues of the Houthis literally attacking international shipping. That should be an international response—not all of the burden on the United States. There’s a lot of opportunity in the region, and mostly there’s real optimism.” Furthermore, restating President Trump’s pledge to expand the Abraham Accords, Waltz remarked the world is “on the precipice” for the expansion of the accords which have promoted economic agreements between Israel and Arab states such as the UAE and Bahrain.

There’s no doubt that Witkoff is OWNED by Qatar. Trump is now lauding Qatar, the WORST Islamist anti-Israel Arab country in the world. He actually knows better.
