After nearly a decade of success on the East Coast, the Nefesh B’Nefesh MedEx model expanded globally in 2024, with events in Paris, Buenos Aires, London, and Los Angeles attracting over 1,100 participants. As part of the newly established International Medical Aliyah Program (IMAP), MedEx focuses on facilitating the Aliyah of Jewish doctors worldwide. This initiative, led by the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, Ministry of Health, Ministry of the Negev, Galilee, and National Resilience, and Nefesh B’Nefesh in collaboration with The Jewish Agency, aims to address Israel’s growing demand for medical professionals. Additional key partners for this robust and critical program include the Marcus Foundation, the Gottesman Foundation, the Jewish Federation of North America, as well as the Azrieli and Arison Foundations.
New Jersey will kick off the program’s 2025 activities, targeting the integration of approximately 2,000 doctors into Israel’s healthcare system over the next five years. At MedEx, you’ll witness firsthand how the initiative assists Jewish doctors from North America with converting medical licenses and securing employment within Israeli healthcare institutions. Representatives from Israel’s ministries, the Israel Medical Association, leading HMOs, and hospitals will provide guidance and resources to hundreds of medical professionals seeking licensing and employment opportunities. You will have the opportunity to meet with leading dignitaries from Israel, heads of the program as well as hundreds of medical professionals expected at the event who are planning their Aliyah and integration into the Israeli healthcare system during these challenging times.
On March 10, 2025, the day after MedEx, Nefesh B’Nefesh will host a large-scale Aliyah Fair, together with its partners, where hundreds of participants will connect with representatives from key organizations to explore Aliyah options and receive information about employment, education, and community life in Israel.
