A terrorist attack at the Karkur Junction in Pardes Hanna-Karkur has left 14 individuals injured, including three in critical and serious condition, after a Palestinian terrorist from the Jenin area plowed his vehicle into a bus stop. As reported by Israel National News on Thursday, the attacker was later neutralized by security forces after attempting to flee the scene.
According to the information provided in the Israel National News report, emergency responders evacuated 14 victims to Hillel Yafe Medical Center in Hadera for treatment. Among the most severely wounded is a 17-year-old female suffering from critical head and limb injuries, who is currently sedated and ventilated. Two others sustained serious injuries: a 60-year-old male, also sedated and ventilated, with head and limb trauma, and a 19-year-old female who is conscious but suffering from head injuries.
Additionally, an 18-year-old female sustained moderate limb injuries but remained fully conscious. Five others suffered minor injuries, while an additional five people experienced shock as a result of the attack.
Israel National News has identified the terrorist as Jamil Ziyad, a Palestinian from the village of Silat al-Harithiya in northern Samaria. Ziyad was in Israel illegally and was reportedly married to an Israeli Arab. Initial reports suggested that the terrorist was an Israeli Arab, but police later confirmed his Palestinian origins.
After ramming pedestrians at the bus stop, Ziyad continued driving for approximately four kilometers, fleeing the scene of the attack. Security forces intercepted and neutralized him at the entrance to Gan Shmuel.
After after striking multiple victims, the terrorist exited his vehicle wielding a screwdriver, attempting to attack bystanders and police officers, as was reported by Israel National News. Police Spokesman Asi Aharoni confirmed that the suspect stabbed several individuals before colliding with a police car. “The terrorist rammed several individuals at a bus stop and then stabbed people, and collided with a police car,” Aharoni stated. Security forces quickly responded, stopping the vehicle and eliminating the terrorist before he could inflict further harm.
Emergency medical teams arrived at a chaotic scene, where victims lay scattered along the roadside, some unconscious and suffering from life-threatening injuries. The report at Israel National News shared the testimony of MDA Senior EMT Moshe Cohen, one of the first responders at the attack site.
“I arrived quickly at the scene and saw chaos. About ten injured people, both young and old, were lying in a ditch on the side of the road. Two of them were unconscious, suffering from head and limb injuries. Large MDA forces arrived rapidly. The vehicle responsible for the attack was stopped further down the road by security forces. We performed an initial triage of the wounded and evacuated them to the hospital,” Cohen said.
Avi Cohen described the moment medical teams arrived at the Karkur Junction, where victims had been struck by the speeding vehicle.“We arrived at a complex scene with a lot of commotion following a vehicle that hit several pedestrians. There were eight injured people at the scene—two in serious condition, three in moderate condition, and three with minor injuries. They were near a bus station at the Karkur junction in the westbound lane when the vehicle struck them, and when we arrived, they were lying on the ground. We immediately began providing medical treatment to all the injured, including stopping bleeding and bandaging wounds. We loaded them into ambulances and mobile intensive care units and quickly evacuated them to Hillel Yafe Medical Center in Hadera.”
Other MDA emergency responders spoke of shocking scenes when they arrived at the site of the vehicular attack. Israel National News quoted MDA EMT Orly Keinan, who described how the injured victims were thrown behind a bus station after being struck. “It was a severe scene. When we arrived with large forces, we saw the injured, some of whom were lying on a dirt mound behind the bus station. They told us they were hit by a vehicle that went onto the sidewalk and fled. We provided them with life-saving medical treatment, including stopping bleeding, bandaging, and immobilizing injuries. We evacuated them to Hillel Yafe Medical Center, with two in serious condition, three in moderate condition, and the rest with minor injuries.”
This deadly ramming attack is part of an escalating wave of Palestinian terrorist attacks in recent months, intensifying security concerns across Israel. Israel National News reports that Israeli security forces remain on high alert following Hamas’s October 7 massacre and the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the West Bank.
Authorities are investigating how Ziyad, who was in Israel illegally, managed to enter the country and obtain access to a vehicle. The attack underscores the ongoing threat posed by Palestinian terrorists infiltrating Israeli communities and targeting civilians at public transit hubs.
The terror attack at Karkur Junction has left 14 victims wounded, including teenagers and elderly individuals, and has once again highlighted the grave threat posed by Palestinian terrorism. As Israel National News extensively reports, Israeli emergency responders acted swiftly and efficiently to treat the wounded and evacuate them to hospitals.
Meanwhile, Israeli security forces neutralized the terrorist before he could continue his rampage, preventing even greater loss of life. As Israel continues its fight against terrorism, the attack serves as a harrowing reminder of the dangers Israelis
