With fires rolling through Los Angeles, lives at stake, and billions in property already destroyed, the sexuality of the L.A. Fire Department leadership is the last thing I care about. Yet for gay activists, shattering that glass ceiling still seems to be the only thing on their minds.
Gay agitprop website Pride.com ran an exceptionally tone-deaf story about the fires Wednesday afternoon, arguing that L.A.’s “first LGBTQ+ fire chief is proving lesbians get it done.”
Meet the people in charge of LA’s fire response.
All of them lesbians named Kristin.

The LAFD is very diverse. It’s run by lesbians named Kristin
(not that there’s anything wrong with it)

OK — even if this is true, why should I care? The alphabet mafia is against stereotypes at every turn, unless it’s a flattering one, apparently. But just as I’m opposed to negative stereotypes, I’m equally opposed to the idea that we should automatically accede competence to a leader because of what she likes to put in her mouth.
Yet, even the underlying claim is false. Crowley is not “getting it done” — far from it. There’s over $10 billion in insured losses already with no end in sight, proving that DEI ideologues reap what they sow. Crowley is wholly unqualified to lead. Her defenders might point out her decades-long climb through the department’s bureaucracy; sure, she’s got experience. But she still came in with her ideology blazing, bizarrely prioritizing “diversity, equity, and inclusion” as part of the department’s core mission. Obviously, the fire department’s only mission is to fight fire. Stating anything else is inherently disqualifying.
Crowley could spout jet streams from fingertips like a superhero, and it still wouldn’t matter. If she’s talking about race and gender ideology while she’s putting out fires, she’s only half focused on the latter. And she’s far too incompetent to lead.
