Pam Bondi Calls for Stricter Measures Against Pro-Hamas Agitators on U.S. Campuses, Advocates for Trump Travel Ban Reinstatement
Edited by: Fern Sidman
In a series of strong public statements, Pam Bondi, soon to take office as Attorney General, has sparked significant discussion with her calls for revoking the student visas of individuals expressing support for Hamas. Bondi’s remarks come amidst rising tensions on American college campuses, where some students have vocalized their stance on the ongoing conflict in Gaza. According to a report on the Vois Es Nais website, Bondi has described such expressions as aligning with a terrorist organization rather than advocating for humanitarian concerns.
“These students in universities, whether they’re American citizens or here on student visas, who are out there saying ‘I support Hamas’—they need to be taken out of our country or, at the very least, the FBI should be interviewing them immediately,” Bondi said in a recent televised appearance, as was reported by VIN. Her assertion is unequivocal: any public alignment with Hamas should be met with federal scrutiny. She underscored that this rhetoric goes beyond expressing solidarity with Palestinian civilians, equating it instead to support for terrorism.
“Hamas equals terrorism at its worst,” Bondi emphasized. The VIN report highlighted her argument that backing Hamas cannot be divorced from endorsing the violent actions of an internationally recognized terrorist group. She further contended that such affiliations, even if verbal, pose a security risk to the United States.
Bondi also addressed the concerning rise of anti-Semitism across the country, a phenomenon that has become increasingly visible in recent years. “The anti-Semitism that is rampant throughout this country now is truly heartbreaking. It’s affecting our Jewish friends all over the nation,” she stated, as indicated in the VIN report. She attributed the spread of these sentiments to ignorance and a lack of historical understanding, particularly among younger generations.
In response to this troubling trend, Bondi is advocating for the reinstatement of President-elect Donald Trump’s travel ban, a policy that targeted individuals from several predominantly Muslim countries. Noted in the VIN report was that Bondi views this as a necessary measure to mitigate potential threats and reduce the likelihood of sympathizers of terrorist groups entering the United States. “We must prioritize the safety of our citizens above all else,” Bondi argued, framing the travel ban as a critical element in national security strategy.
