Garbage Truck Driver Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Story of Trump’s Impromptu Ride

Edited by: Fern Sidman

In an unexpected turn of events that captured national attention, a Michigan garbage truck driver has shared the remarkable story of how former President Donald Trump ended up aboard his truck during a recent Wisconsin campaign stop. The New York Post reported that the incident, which quickly went viral, began with a surprising phone call during Andrew Bisson’s lunch break.

Bisson, who works for the family-owned LoadMaster garbage service in Norway, Michigan, initially couldn’t believe the request he received. “I didn’t really believe it at first till I picked up the phone and talked to the guy myself,” Bisson revealed in an interview with Fox News’ The Story, as reported by The Post.

After verifying the authenticity of the request through a mutual industry contact, Bisson sprang into action. According to The Post, he selected “a nice-looking garbage truck” from his company’s lot and made the journey to Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport, where Trump was scheduled to hold a rally. The truck was specially decorated for the occasion, adorned with Trump campaign decals and “Make America Great Again” stickers.

The Post reported that the former president, sporting an orange workman’s vest, created a memorable moment when he climbed aboard Bisson’s truck. While their interaction was brief due to press attention, Bisson noted that Trump did manage to shake his hand and exchange greetings.

In what became perhaps the most dramatic moment of the encounter, Bisson recounted a nerve-wracking incident involving the Secret Service. According to The Post report, Trump spontaneously requested a ride in the truck. “Once they were all done, I started up the truck. I blew the air horn and then he looked over at me and said can you take me for a ride in this thing,” Bisson explained.

The driver’s attempt to comply with the former president’s request was short-lived. “I released the park brake, put it in drive and started moving forward,” Bisson recalled, but the movement lasted only “a foot or two” before Secret Service agents intervened with stern glares and hand signals, bringing the impromptu ride to an immediate halt.

The Post report noted that Trump’s garbage truck appearance was not without political significance. The former president used the moment to respond to recent comments made by President Biden about Trump supporters. “How do you like my garbage truck?” Trump asked reporters present at the scene, adding, “This is in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden.”

The incident also touched on another concurrent controversy. When questioned about comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s controversial remarks about Puerto Rico at the Madison Square Garden rally on Sunday, Trump distanced himself from the comments. The Post reported that Trump emphasized his relationship with Puerto Rico, stating, “Nobody has done more for Puerto Rico than me. I took care of them when they had the big hurricanes. Nobody gets along better with Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican people than me. They love me and I love them.”

Regarding Hinchcliffe’s comments specifically, Trump maintained his distance, telling The Post, “I don’t know anything about the comedian. I don’t know who he is. I heard he made a statement but it’s a statement that he made. He’s a comedian. What can I tell you? You put comedians up, and I guess he went on early in the show.”
