The report claims that Walz, who taught in China in 1989, pursued a passionate relationship with Jenna Wang, a then-24-year-old English teacher and daughter of a high-ranking official. Wang recounted moments of passion over cups of tea, music from British icon George Michael, and hours spent in private. “We stayed in bed, had sex, and he continued to buy me gifts,” she recalled. Her hopes of a future together grew, and on a vacation to Hainan Island, she expressed a desire to marry and move with Walz to the U.S. However, Walz reportedly dismissed the idea, accusing her of being more interested in an American passport than in him. Heartbroken, Wang revealed that Walz’s rejection left her devastated.
Haunted by his dismissal, Wang even contemplated suicide.
