New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh has been fired by the franchise after a less than stellar 2-3 start to the 2024 season.
Jeff Ulbrich, defensive coordinator of the Jets, will be taking over head coaching duties on an interim basis, according to a report from ESPN. (RELATED: ‘Stop Posting That Sh*t’: Brian Daboll Goes Off On Wan’Dale Robinson For Live Streaming After Win Against Seahawks)
Hired in 2021 by the Jets, Saleh has tallied a 20-36 all-time record as the organization’s skipper.
The firing of Saleh is the first time in team owner Woody Johnson’s 25 year-tenure that he’s canned a head coach in the middle of a campaign.
Coming into 2024, there were a load of expectations around the Jets due to quarterback Aaron Rodgers coming back from his Achilles injury that put him out for the entire 2023 season. However, their offense has been dismal, struggling throughout the year.

The fact that the Jets gave up on Robert Saleh so quickly tells me that Aaron Rodgers was certainly involved with this move, especially with his ego — he pulled a LeBron!
But since we’ve gotten to this point, it is fascinating, because a lot of people seem to think the Jets are heading in this direction (even Dov Kleiman tweeted something about it):

But my question is … Why would Bill want to join pure dysfunction?

Bill Belichick returning to the NFL to be the #Jets head coach would be awesome. pic.twitter.com/IJ0s9I78ck
