In today’s fast-paced world, fitness centers equipped with state-of-the-art machines have become increasingly popular. Beyond just a place to build muscle or burn calories, these modern gyms offer a multi-dimensional experience that greatly contributes to both mental and physical well-being. But what exactly makes people gravitate toward these cutting-edge facilities, and how do they enhance overall health?
Fitness centers with advanced equipment provide users with the latest in exercise technology. These machines offer precision tracking, customizable workouts, and a wide range of exercises designed to target specific muscle groups or fitness goals. For many, the ability to track progress through integrated metrics such as heart rate, calorie burn, and muscle engagement adds an extra layer of motivation. The sense of immediate feedback encourages consistent effort, as people can tangibly measure their improvements over time.

Moreover, the variety offered in these centers ensures that routines remain engaging. From interactive virtual trainers to machines with tailored resistance programs, users can avoid the monotony that often accompanies repetitive workouts. This variability keeps people excited about their fitness journey.
Recently, The Jewish Voice has the distinct pleasure of speaking with someone who has been in the forefront of facilitating this exercise revolution.
Thomas Jackowski, the owner and CEO of Xercise Fitness Consulting, has been designing, outfitting, and servicing all types of fitness facilities over a 35-year career. During this time, he assembled the finest group of industry professionals to position his firm as the northeast leader from conception to every aspect of operation. His dedication and passion for fitness have been instrumental in shaping the fitness landscape in the region.
“I am beyond thrilled to play an important role in helping to keep exercise enthusiasts healthy, happy and very motivated during their workout experience,“ Jackowski told The Jewish Voice.

Since its founding in 1992, Xercise Fitness Consulting has been a prominent player in the commercial fitness equipment industry, serving as a comprehensive partner for fitness facilities across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida. For fitness facility operators who are new to the industry or those looking to upgrade their existing setup, Xercise Fitness Consulting offers consultation services to ensure every detail is carefully considered.
“We work with offices, multi-housing developments and high end residences in every aspect of creating the very best fitness centers possible,“ Jackowski noted.
Working in tandem with developers and others, Jackowski told The Jewish Voice that Xercise Fitness Consulting is one of just a few companies that is fully invested in the New York area that provides these kinds of comprehensive and high quality services.
He also told The Jewish Voice that Xercise Fitness provides regular, preventive maintenance to ensure equipment stays in peak condition and minimizes downtime. Moreover, the company assists clients in designing a space that maximizes the user experience and equipment efficiency. Xercise Fitness also handles the logistics of delivering and installing fitness equipment, tailored to each gym’s needs. They offer fast and reliable repair services for all fitness equipment to minimize disruptions to a gym’s operations.
This all-inclusive approach has helped Xercise Fitness Consulting build a strong reputation among gym owners, from boutique fitness studios to large-scale commercial gyms
“Right now, I am about to do a work through of a fitness facility. At Xercise Fitness, we not only provide sales and service of equipment but we help in designing the physical layout of the center. That means specialized lighting, flooring, the installation of mirrors. Anything that improves the user experience, “ Jackowski said with a palpable exuberance in his voice.
“We provide customized flooring solutions that not only protect equipment but also contribute to safety and enhance the visual appeal of the gym space, “ Jackowski said. He also spoke of the installation of mirrors and lighting and said that these services enhance gym aesthetics, making the space feel more open and appealing to members.
In addition, Xercise Fitness also plays a role in audio and video wiring by setting up entertainment and media systems that also enhance the member experience, from televisions to music systems.
Jackowski also spoke of his company offering specialized cleaning services to ensure that fitness facilities meet health and hygiene standards, a service that has become even more crucial in the post-pandemic era.
Each of these services is designed to provide gym owners with a holistic solution, ensuring every element of their fitness facility is optimized for member satisfaction.
Jackowski said that whether working with new gym owners, commercial clients, or long-established fitness brands, the company tailors its services to ensure clients can focus on inspiring and motivating their members.
“We understand the importance of having your equipment up and running at all times,” said Jackowski. “That’s why we guarantee the industry’s fastest and best response time for all inquiries. Powered by smart AI technology, our customer support is unrivaled, ensuring that fitness facilities operate smoothly and efficiently.”
Their approach involves understanding each client’s vision, target demographic, and budget constraints to deliver customized fitness solutions. Their knowledge of gym layouts, user experience optimization, and aesthetic design makes them an invaluable partner for creating spaces that not only function smoothly but also inspire and motivate members to achieve their fitness goals.
The company’s mission reflects its deep understanding of the vital role gym equipment plays in shaping the fitness experience. As gyms aim to foster environments that motivate and retain members, the reliability, functionality, and appeal of the equipment are critical components of success. Xercise Fitness Consulting ensures that fitness facilities have access to top-tier equipment and can maintain its optimal functionality over time.
To ensure the highest quality of service, Jackowski told The Jewish Voice that Xercise Fitness Consulting partners with some of the top brands in the fitness industry. Their partnerships include manufacturers such as Precor, Life Fitness, Cybex, Hoist, Stairmaster, Peloton, and more. This expansive network allows the company to offer a wide range of cutting-edge equipment, tailored to the evolving demands of fitness facilities. With access to these leading brands, Xercise Fitness Consulting can recommend and supply equipment that fits a gym’s specific vision, budget, and performance requirements.
Precor, founded in 1980, is a leading brand in the fitness industry known for pioneering high-quality exercise equipment that emphasizes innovation, ergonomics, and performance. Whether used in commercial gyms or home fitness settings, Precor’s products are designed to cater to a wide range of fitness goals, providing both comfort and effectiveness for users of all skill levels.
Precor’s central philosophy revolves around creating equipment that moves the way the human body does. This “natural movement” approach underpins much of its innovation, with a focus on ergonomics, biomechanical correctness, and user-centric design. Precor constantly invests in research and development to improve the user experience and maximize workout effectiveness while minimizing the risk of injury.
The brand’s commitment to innovation is evident in its early introduction of elliptical fitness machines. In fact, Precor launched the world’s first elliptical trainer, the Elliptical Fitness Crosstrainer (EFX), in 1995. This marked a revolutionary shift in how cardio workouts were approached, combining lower-impact exercise with an effective calorie burn.
One of the standout features of Xercise Fitness Consulting is their commitment to customer service. Understanding that a single malfunctioning piece of equipment can impact a gym’s reputation, the company promises industry-leading response times to handle all inquiries and issues. Their ability to rapidly address problems ensures that fitness centers can minimize downtime and maintain member satisfaction.
Jackowski said that by leveraging advanced technology and industry know-how, Xercise Fitness Consulting has streamlined the customer service experience. Their approach has earned them a loyal customer base and consistent positive feedback from gym owners who rely on the company to keep their operations running smoothly.
“The more educated someone is, they will come to the realization that fitness must become a priority in their lives, “ said Jackowski.
Also speaking with The Jewish Voice was Vladimir Shindelman, a key figure in the fitness industry and someone who is recognized for his leadership at Xercise Fitness Consulting. Shindelman’s role, rooted in decades of experience, emphasizes providing not only high-quality fitness equipment but also a holistic approach to fitness facility management.
As service director of Xercise Fitness Consulting, Shindelman told The Jewish Voice that he was raised in Latvia and trained as an electrical engineer before coming to the United States.
“My mother is a Holocaust survivor and I come from a family of hard working immigrants,” Shindelman said.
Shindelman’s mother, Asia Shindelman, speaks to audiences around the country of her nightmarish Holocaust experiences in order to educate, inform and enlighten a new generation about the dangers of rising anti-Semitism and extremism.
“My mother is a most remarkable and accomplished person,“ Shindelman said. He told The Jewish Voice that she became a chemical engineer, is fluent in seven languages and learned English at age 62 by reading novels. In the aftermath of the Holocaust she moved to Latvia, where she married his father Yudel, a veterinarian, and raised himself and his brother Moshe. In 1991, his family’s dream came true when they moved to America. They settled in Queens.
