The Tax Reduction Debacle

Dear Editor:

When it comes to paying for promised tax reductions, both Vice President Kamela Harris and former President Donald Trump remind me of the old cartoon character Wimpy. He was fond off saying, “I’ll gladly pay you on Tuesday for a hamburger today,” or in this case a series of tax cuts. Neither Harris or Trump explain how they would balance future federal budgets with significant reductions in revenue due to tax cuts. Diogenes is still searching for an honest Presidential candidate who will explain in detail which government program spending will be reduced or frozen at current levels in coming years to pay for the goodies they are promising voters. As Wendy’s spokesperson Clara Peller said “Where’s the Beef.”

Grand Mufti Enforced Middle East Anti-Semitism

Dear Editor:

There is no Palestine today.

There was no Palestine before 1920.

From the 1920s to the 1940s, there was the British Mandate for Palestine. It was one of the collection of states created by the allies who defeated the Germans and their WWI partners, including the Ottoman Empire. The Mandate for Palestine was designated as the reconstituted Jewish homeland, just as Lebanon was to be a Christian haven, among the vast expanse of Islamic entities.

Haj Amin al Husseini, Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, was the enforcer of Middle East anti-Semitism. His first pogrom was the murder of 2 Jews and the wounding of 200 in Jerusalem in 1920. The slaughter of the Jews of Hebron in 1929, induced the British to move out the remaining Jews, a pattern repeated in towns in and around Jerusalem. The Mufti was Hitler’s partner.

The Muslim Brotherhood, created in 1928 by Hassan al-Banna, formed the ideology of Islamic superiority and expansion. Its goal was, and is, to replace Infidel lands with a Caliphate.

During the years of the Mandate, only Jews were referred to as ‘Palestinians.’ To call an Arab a ‘Palestinian” was akin to calling him a ‘Jew’.

By 1948, half the Arabs in the mandate for Palestine were recent immigrants. Within a few years, half the Jews of Israel were refugees from Arab lands.

To quote Khaled Al-Azm, Syria’s prime minister after the 1948 war, in his 1972 memoirs:

“Since 1948, it is we who demanded the return of refugees. … while it is we who made them leave … We brought disaster upon Arab refugees, by inviting them and bringing pressure upon them to leave … We have rendered them dispossessed … We have accustomed them to begging … We have participated in lowering their moral and social level. … Then we exploited them in executing crimes of murder, arson and throwing bombs upon … men, women and children – all of this in the service of political purposes.”

In 1964, the Soviet KGB and Egypt created the Palestine Liberation Organization. The recruited terrorists from throughout the Middle East and North Africa and called them ‘Palestinians’. They renamed Israel, excluding the West Bank and Gaza, ‘Palestine’ and started calling Arabs who ever lived in the mandate ‘Palestinians’ for the first time.

Israel is a liberal democracy. Seventy-two per cent of Israelis, including 63 per cent of Arabs, voted in the last elections. Canada and the US had 62 per cent participation rates in theirs. Israel is the tenth most powerful country. In the world. Its per-capita GDP beats Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the UK. It is sixth on the World Happiness Index, first in digital quality, and fifth in education. Tel Aviv is one of the best LGBTQ vacation destinations and is a haven for regional gays. Israel’s hospitals include Jewish and Arab doctors, staff and patients.

The UN is woefully corrupt and anti-Semitic. It should be disbanded, not given the pretention of legitimacy.

Sincerely

The Hypocrisy of Abortion Advocates

Dear Editor:

In her first presidential campaign speech, Vice President Kamala Harris mentioned strongly that, as President, she would fight tooth and nail for women’s rights to “Reproductive Freedom.” Which, although she steadfastly refuses to admit it, clearly means, “The Right to Reproduce: To Have Children,” not to murder them through abortion. This is the word game Liberals play.

But further on abortion; a sign was posted on Florida beaches that warns of fines and imprisonment for just disturbing a turtle egg. It makes one wonder why abortions that end the lives of living, human fetuses, are not only common practice, but encouraged by so many people? And the Democrat Party features “Abortion for All!” as their main campaign slogan. Let’s see if we’ve got it right: Kill animal fetuses ILLEGAL and BAD, but kill human fetuses, LEGAL and OK? Crazy, no?

Sincerely

Who Does Not Yet Understand?

Dear Editor:

Early Sunday afternoon Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a video statement on the incessant terror attacks by Hezbollah: “At present, residents of northern Israel are indeed unable to live in their own homes due to the security risk posed by the Hezbollah terrorist army. After 11 months of attempts to reach a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, Israeli military and political leaders alike have reached the realization that Hezbollah will never acquiesce to a diplomatic agreement.”

This weekend, Israeli forces began escalating and intensifying their attacks on Hezbollah forces with the intent to put an end to the drones and rocket fire, once and for all.

At a security assessment meeting on Monday, Netanyahu stated, “I would like to clarify Israel’s policy to whoever does not yet understand: We are not waiting for the threat, we are pre-empting it – everywhere, in every sector, constantly. We are eliminating senior figures, terrorists and missiles – and our arm is still extended. Whoever tries to harm us, we will harm them all the more forcefully.”

Just today, rocket barrages have been reported for the first time in Samaria. Between the pager explosions last week and Israel’s pre-emptive strikes on Hezbollah, one can only imagine that both Lebanon itself and Hezbollah are in a complete state of shock. The death toll and wounded numbers are very high and increasing. Hospitals are collapsing, local channels are begging citizens to come donate blood and contact the authorities. With that said, it’s in their best interest to understand Israel’s policy.

Sincerely
Moshe Phillips
