Trump Campaign Launches “Jewish Voices for Trump” – A New Coalition Aimed at Combating Anti-Semitism & Supporting Israel

Edited by: Fern Sidman

In a strategic move to strengthen his support within the Jewish community, former President Donald J. Trump has announced the launch of a new coalition, “Jewish Voices for Trump.” According to a report published on Thursday on the Vois Es Nais web site, this initiative is part of his broader campaign efforts as he seeks to return to the White House in the upcoming presidential election. The coalition, whose mission calls for addressing serious concerns about the rapid escalation of visceral Jew hatred as well as reaffirming the United States’ commitment to the State of Israel,  brings together a diverse group of thought leaders, business figures, former administration officials, authors, influencers, and prominent members of the Jewish community.

“Jewish Voices for Trump” has been established with a clear agenda: to fight against the growing tide of anti-Semitism and to restore peace and prosperity for the Jewish people and the State of Israel. As was reported by VIN, the coalition’s launch comes at a time when concerns about anti-Semitism are dramatically heightened, particularly in light of increased incidents of intimidation of Jewish students on college campuses across the length and breadth of the United States as well as in public spaces. The Trump campaign has positioned this initiative as a direct response to what it describes as “radical leftist anti-Semitism” that has gained traction in recent years.

According to the campaign’s press release, the coalition is united by a shared faith and heritage, and it recognizes the significant achievements that Trump claims to have made during his presidency to strengthen the Jewish community both domestically and internationally, as per the information provided in the VIN report.  The press release shines a spotlight on the coalition’s belief that Trump’s return to the White House is essential for continuing these efforts and ensuring the safety and stability of the Jewish community in the US and Israel.

The formation of “Jewish Voices for Trump” also serves as a critique of the current Biden administration, which the Trump campaign accuses of failing to adequately support the Jewish community and Israel. The press release suggests that many in the Jewish community feel “politically homeless” due to what it characterizes as Biden’s “flip-flops” on issues related to Jewish safety and security, as was explained in the VIN report.  By contrast, the Trump campaign seeks to position the Republican Party, and Trump in particular, as a reliable home for those who feel betrayed or neglected by the current administration.

This narrative plays into a broader strategy of appealing to voters who may feel disillusioned with the Democratic Party’s handling of issues related to Israel and anti-Semitism. Indicated in the VIN report was that the Trump campaign is attempting to consolidate support among Jewish voters who prioritize strong U.S.-Israel relations and are concerned about rising anti-Semitism in America.

One of the key messages of “Jewish Voices for Trump” is the emphasis on Trump’s legacy concerning Israel. The report on the VIN web site also noted that during his presidency, Trump took several actions that were widely praised by pro-Israel advocates, including recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and relocating the U.S. embassy there, as well as brokering the Abraham Accords, which normalized relations between Israel and several Arab nations.

Moreover, Trump took the initiative of commuting the prison sentence of Shalom Rubashkin, the former CEO of Agriprocessors, a kosher slaughterhouse and meat packing plant in Postville, Iowa. Rubashkin had been dealt an unduly harsh and patently unfair sentence of 27 years on minor charges.  Trump rectified this colossal injustice with one stroke of his pen on December 20, 2017, during the holiday of Chanukah.

The coalition’s press release also reflects this legacy by framing Trump’s past actions as foundational to the strength and stability of the Jewish community and Israel. VIN reported that the campaign asserted that a second Trump presidency would build on these achievements, further enhancing peace and prosperity not only for Israel but for the global Jewish community.

The coalition’s formation also reflects a broader trend within the Trump campaign of building specialized voter coalitions that address specific concerns and interests. By targeting the Jewish community with a focused message on anti-Semitism and Israel, the campaign hopes to secure a key demographic that could play a pivotal role in the election.

David Friedman, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel, expressed deep concern over these developments, attributing them to what he describes as the “failed policies of the Harris-Biden administration.” He highlighted the increase in anti-Semitic protests on campuses and the existential threat posed to Israel, underscoring the coalition’s belief that strong leadership is needed to counter these challenges.

“Campuses have exploded with antisemitic protests, and Iran-backed proxies represent an existential threat to the State of Israel, all because of the failed policies of the Harris-Biden administration,” Friedman stated, setting the tone for the coalition’s critique of the current administration’s handling of U.S.-Israel relations.

The coalition has also garnered significant support from the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC), a prominent organization that has long championed pro-Israel policies within the Republican Party. RJC National Chairman Senator Norm Coleman and RJC CEO Matt Brooks have expressed their unequivocal support for Trump, hailing him as the “most pro-Israel President in U.S. history.” Their endorsement reflects the high stakes of the upcoming election, which they describe as “the most important election of our lifetimes.”

“The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) is proud to stand with the most pro-Israel President in U.S. history, Donald J. Trump. This is the most important election of our lifetimes, and the RJC is all-in to elect President Trump and Senator Vance,” Coleman and Brooks declared, signaling the RJC’s full commitment to Trump’s re-election campaign.

Jason D. Greenblatt, a former Assistant to the President and Special Representative for International Negotiations, provided insight into Trump’s understanding of global issues and his commitment to addressing the dangers facing America and its allies. Having worked closely with Trump, Greenblatt emphasized the former president’s deep awareness of the challenges on the world stage and his willingness to confront them head-on.

“I have known President Donald J. Trump for over 25 years. He fully understands the issues our great country is facing and is unafraid to speak the truth about the dramatic dangers lurking around the world for America and its allies,” Greenblatt remarked, underscoring the coalition’s confidence in Trump’s ability to navigate complex international issues.

Morgan Ortagus, former State Department Spokeswoman, contrasted the outcomes of the current administration’s foreign policy with Trump’s “peace through strength” approach. She cited the tragic events of October 7th as a direct result of what she views as the Harris-Biden administration’s ineffective policies, making a strong case for Trump’s return to office.

“The October 7th attacks were the outcome of the Harris-Biden administration’s failed policies. Contrast that with President Trump’s peace through strength, and the choice is clear,” Ortagus stated, emphasizing the coalition’s belief that Trump’s leadership would bring about a more stable and secure world.

Ellie Cohanim, former Deputy Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism, highlighted Trump’s track record in protecting the American Jewish community and providing historic support to Israel. She argued that a second Trump term would allow for a return to the successes of his first presidency, particularly in combating anti-Semitism and strengthening U.S.-Israel ties.

“Under President Trump’s leadership, the American Jewish community was protected from anti-Semitism, and Israel was given historic support. With President Trump back in office, we can return to the successes of the first Trump term,” Cohanim stated, reinforcing the coalition’s message of continuity and progress under Trump’s leadership.

Aryeh Lightstone, former Senior Advisor to the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, expressed his concerns about the potential consequences of a continued Harris-Biden administration, particularly for U.S.-Israel relations. He warned that a Harris-Walz presidency would be detrimental to the relationship between the two nations, urging the Jewish community to support Trump as a means of safeguarding this critical alliance.

“We are currently seeing the results of a disastrous Harris Biden admin, and a Harris-Walz presidency will be the worst possible outcome for the USA–Israel relationship,” Lightstone cautioned, reflecting the coalition’s anxiety over the future of U.S. foreign policy under the current administration.

One of the central pillars of Trump’s 2024 platform is a renewed and strengthened commitment to Israel. Elizabeth Pipko, RNC Spokeswoman, highlighted Trump’s dedication to maintaining and expanding this strategic alliance. “President Trump will reaffirm our strategic commitment to Israel, confront Iran’s campaign of terror, and reassert American values at home by stopping the spread of anti-Semitism and anti-American sentiment in our streets, which go hand in hand,” she stated. Pipko’s remarks reflect a broader campaign narrative that ties domestic and foreign policy together, emphasizing the interconnectedness of global and local threats.

Brooke Goldstein, the founder and Executive Director of The Lawfare Project and a vocal supporter of Trump, made a bold declaration about the stakes of the upcoming election. “The future of Western Civilization depends on reelecting President Trump, and that is no exaggeration. Only he has shown the willingness and capability to do what needs to be done, to fight against theologically motivated terrorism,” she asserted.

Jacob Helberg emphasized Trump’s unwavering support for Israel, stating, “President Trump is the most pro-Israel president in this country’s history, and his support for Israel will be just as resolute in a second term.” This sentiment is echoed by Jeff Bartos, who highlighted Trump’s major policy achievements: “President Trump moved the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, rejected the disastrous Iran nuclear deal, and was the most effective president in history for the U.S.-Israel relationship.”

Josh Hammer, a conservative commentator, framed the choice in the upcoming election as one between Trump’s leadership and the rise of radical elements within the Democratic Party. “Donald Trump was the most pro-Israel president ever and the most pro-Jewish president since George Washington himself. I’m proud to support him over the pro-Hamas, pro-Hezbollah radicals who dominate today’s Democratic Party,” Hammer stated. His comments reflect a broader narrative within the Trump campaign that seeks to portray the Democratic Party as increasingly aligned with anti-Israel and anti-Jewish sentiments.

Noah Pollak echoed this sentiment, expressing frustration with the current state of American cities and universities. “Our cities and campuses are being overrun by Hamas supporters, Israel is being attacked, our border is open, and the Democrats are fine with it. I am tired of disorder and crime. It is time for strength and confidence — it is time for TRUMP,” he declared. Pollak’s statement calls attention to the belief that Trump’s leadership is necessary to restore order and protect American and Israeli interests.

Laibel Jay Weiner expressed this sentiment clearly: “President Donald J Trump is a leader who stands firm in the face of pressure, and I am honored to endorse his reelection bid.” For many in Trump’s camp, his ability to stand firm is seen as a critical quality, especially in a world where they perceive increasing threats to security and stability.

Dr. Sheila Nazarian added to this narrative by emphasizing the global stakes of the 2024 election. “President Trump has made a commitment, not just to the United States, but to the entire world. We cannot endure four more years of Democrat appeasement, weakness, and chaos,” she stated. Nazarian’s comments reflect a broader concern among Trump’s supporters that the current administration’s approach is weakening America’s position on the global stage and endangering its allies.
