Elon Musk & Bill Ackman Endorse Donald Trump Following Assassination Attempt

Edited by: TJVNews.com

In a surprising turn of events, billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk and hedge-fund manager Bill Ackman have formally endorsed Donald Trump for president in the upcoming U.S. election. According to a report on Sunday in The Wall Street Journal, this endorsement comes in the wake of the Saturday assassination attempt on Trump, adding a dramatic twist to the already tumultuous political landscape.

Elon Musk, the visionary behind Tesla, SpaceX, and several other groundbreaking enterprises, took to his social-media platform X to express his support for Trump. As was reported by the WSJ, following the assassination attempt, Musk posted a series of comments, including a direct endorsement of the former president and pointed criticism of the Secret Service’s handling of the incident.

“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk declared in a post that featured a video of Trump being quickly escorted off stage after the attempt. As per the information in the WSJ report, in another post, he drew a historical parallel, stating, “Last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt.” Musk’s endorsement is particularly significant given his vast influence on social media and his substantial following in the tech and business communities.

Musk’s support for Trump has been developing over recent months. His dissatisfaction with President Biden’s administration has been well-documented, and his rapport with Trump, a Republican, has grown increasingly friendly. However, his recent posts mark the most explicit public declaration of support for Trump’s presidential bid to date.

Adding to his endorsement, Musk also responded affirmatively to a suggestion that U.S. Senator JD Vance (R., Ohio) should be Trump’s vice-presidential pick, stating, “You’re right.”

Musk did not shy away from criticizing the Secret Service in the aftermath of the assassination attempt. Indicated in the WSJ report was that he called for the resignation of the agency’s leadership, questioning their competence. “Extreme incompetence or it was deliberate. Either way, the SS leadership must resign,” he asserted.

The Secret Service has announced that Trump had additional security and resources while campaigning, and an active investigation into the incident is underway.

Bill Ackman, the influential hedge-fund manager known for his firm Pershing Square Capital Management, also threw his support behind Trump. The WSJ reported that Ackman took to social media platform X on Saturday night to formally endorse Donald Trump for president. In a relatively lengthy post, Ackman revealed that his decision had been made some time ago, though he felt the urgency to write about it only recently. Ackman also indicated that he would elaborate on his endorsement in a forthcoming long-form post, where he plans to share his observations of Trump after spending time with the former president. “I want to make the case thoughtfully and convincingly,” Ackman stated.

Interestingly, Ackman’s initial post did not directly mention the assassination attempt on Trump. However, the WSj reported that he did repost several messages that condemned the political violence, aligning himself with a broader sentiment of outrage and concern within the business community.

As was noted in the WSJ report, Ackman’s endorsement, coupled with Musk’s, represents a significant boost for Trump’s campaign, bringing into his fold individuals with considerable influence in the financial and business sectors, as well as vast resources.

Musk’s endorsement is particularly noteworthy given his previous criticisms of President Biden and his administration. Musk has often voiced his discontent with the current administration’s policies, particularly those related to technology and business. His support for Trump underscores a significant alignment with Republican ideals and policies.

The attempted assassination of Donald Trump sparked a wave of condemnation from top CEOs in the business and tech industries, the report in the WSJ said. These leaders expressed their wishes for Trump’s recovery and called for an end to political violence, emphasizing the importance of peaceful political discourse.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, posted within hours of the shooting, expressing his thoughts for Trump and the “other victims and the Trump family.” Cook added, according to the WSJ report. “I strongly condemn this violence,” reflecting a sentiment shared by many in the corporate world.

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff echoed Cook’s message on X, stating that there is no room for political violence in the country and expressing hopes for Trump’s swift recovery.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Google CEO Sundar Pichai joined the chorus of voices expressing shock and dismay at the incident. The WSJ reported that both leaders conveyed their wishes for Trump’s well-being and highlighted the necessity of condemning political violence.

Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon.com, commended Trump for showing “tremendous grace and courage under literal fire tonight.” The report noted that Bezos expressed gratitude for Trump’s safety and sympathy for the victims and their families, underscoring the gravity of the situation.

Billionaire Ken Griffin, who has previously been skeptical about Trump, also condemned the violence and extended his thoughts to the former president and the other victims. As per the information in the WSJ report, Griffin emphasized, “Our society and democracy have no place for political violence, and we must condemn it in no uncertain terms.” He highlighted the importance of resolving political differences through peaceful means, such as voting, which is a cornerstone of American democracy.

As the U.S. election approaches, the political landscape continues to evolve in response to recent events. The assassination attempt on Trump has added a layer of urgency and intensity to the campaign, highlighting the critical need for security and the condemnation of violence in the political process.

The coming months will reveal how these endorsements and the broader condemnation of political violence will shape the electoral narrative. For now, the unified stance of business leaders against violence and their support for Trump’s recovery marks a significant moment in the unfolding political drama.
