ZOA Fundraising Gala in Florida to Honor “Heroes for Israel” on March 17th

Edited by: TJVNews.com

We all know the Israel Defense Forces is on the front line defending Israel and the Jewish people. But who is on the front line of defense here in the United States? The Zionist Organization of America.

ZOA Florida is thrilled to announce its 2024 major fundraising gala, “Heroes for Israel,” co-chaired by Helene and Lewis Stahl and Barbara and Elgie Gibson. The ZOA gala will take place on Sunday evening, March 17, 2024, at the Orlove Auditorium on the JCC Davie Campus.

We invite you to join us and learn more about how the ZOA is leading the fight for  the safety and security of Israel and the Jewish people, including on Capitol Hill, on college campuses, and in the courts.

We are privileged to be honoring Chris Ruddy, CEO and President of Newsmax Media Inc.;  U.S. Congressman Brian Mast; U.S. Congresswoman Elise Stefanik; U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, and ZOA National Board Member and Vice Chair, Paul Tartell, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Special guests include ZOA National President Morton A. Klein, who is widely regarded as one of the leading Jewish activists in the U.S.; Consul General of Israel in Miami Maor Elbaz-Starinsky; and special elected officials.

Chris Ruddy, founder of Newsmax, will receive our Zionist Hero Award. Chris has been an outstanding supporter of Israel and the Jewish people.  He ensures that the news delivered by his network tells the truth about the Arab war against Israel.  ZOA is proud that Newsmax has acknowledged the ZOA as one of the top charities to support for Israel. Previous recipients of the Zionist Hero Award are Mark Levin, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and former Florida Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, who will be receiving ZOA’s Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson Defender of Israel Award, has proved her commitment and support for Israel time and time again. She is a fierce protector of truth and stands on the side of good against evil. Her exposure of the presidents of MIT, Harvard, and PENN unwilling to protect their Jewish students, was a critical point in further exposing the dangers for Jewish students on campuses today.

Congressman Brian Mast, who will be receiving ZOA’s Dr. Bob Shillman Zionism Award, has been on the front line of defending Israel’s right and obligation to protect itself.  In 2010, during Congressman Mast’s service in the U.S. Army and his deployment in Afghanistan, an improvised explosive device explosion resulted in the loss of both of his legs and one of his fingers. That didn’t stop him, however, from continuing to fight for what he believes in: freedom, democracy, and the mutual respect of all people. Congressman Mast went on to volunteer alongside the Israeli Defense Forces.

Paul Tartell, M.D., F.A.C.S., ZOA National Board Member and a National Vice-Chair, will receive our Pillar of the Community Award.  Paul is so dedicated to the ZOA’s work and is constantly looking for ways to help us grow and succeed. We are fortunate to call Paul a ZOA leader and thankful for his hard work, commitment, and generosity.

The fifth annual ZOA Florida Heroes for Israel Gala comes at a critical time.  As Israel- and Jew-hatred is skyrocketing, ZOA’s work has never been as important and necessary. Our Zionist heroes deserve recognition for their unwavering support of Israel and the Jewish people, and for standing up on the side of good against evil.

You don’t have to live in Florida to attend the ZOA gala – everyone is welcome to join us! To buy tickets or purchase a digital ad, go to zoa.org/floridagala or contact us for more info: [email protected] or our Florida Director, Allison Zur, at 203-274-3656.
