(TJN VEWS) A shocking act of violence unfolded on the streets of Brooklyn as Dulche Pichardo, a 57-year-old school bus aide, fell victim to a vicious assault while commuting home from work. Surveillance footage captured the harrowing moment when Pichardo was sucker-punched by a stranger, leaving her with grievous injuries, including a broken jaw, facial fractures, and the loss of three teeth.
Making matters worse, the judge decided to not charge the suspect with a felony, and he is being released back on to the streets, ABC 7 News reported.
The incident occurred on Grand Avenue near Dean Street in Crown Heights, thrusting Pichardo into a nightmare of pain and fear.

Recalling the traumatic event, Pichardo recounted, “He just punched me on the right side here, very strong.” , Pichardo told the NY Post
The attacker, identified as 33-year-old Franz Jeudy, struck her without warning or provocation, leaving her bewildered and in excruciating pain. “I was surprised. I said, ‘What’s going on? Why did you hit me? Why did you do it?’ I didn’t do anything. No reason to hit me,” she expressed, struggling to comprehend the senseless violence.
The aftermath of the assault has left Pichardo physically and emotionally scarred. With her jaw wired shut and facing weeks of consuming food through a straw, she grapples with the trauma of the attack. “Every time I see a man, I cross. I’m not going to be close to nobody. I’m very afraid,” she admitted, reflecting the deep-seated fear instilled by the assault.
Despite the swift response of her brother and an employee from his nearby restaurant to chase down the assailant, Jeudy remained stoic and denied any involvement in the attack.
Charged with third-degree assault and harassment, Jeudy’s history of prior arrests, including one for assaulting a police officer in 2018, raises concerns about the effectiveness of the justice system in preventing repeat offenses.
He was charged with a misdemeanor not a felony, due to technicalities and is back on the streets, as per ABC Eyewitness News. The thug did not show “prior intrennt” and the lenient judge did not charge hime qwith a higher level crime.
Pichardo’s ordeal adds to a disturbing trend of random assaults targeting women across New York City. In Flatiron, just hours before Pichardo’s attack, another woman fell victim to a similar assault. Reports of such incidents have emerged from various neighborhoods, sending shockwaves through the community and prompting calls for enhanced safety measures.
As the NYPD investigates these attacks, questions linger about their underlying motives and whether they are interconnected. The city grapples with balancing the preservation of public safety with the need for vigilant law enforcement to apprehend perpetrators and prevent future incidents.
