‘Netanyahu is untrustworthy,’ says Hillary Clinton

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton slammed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a televised interview on Wednesday evening.

In addition to criticizing Netanyahu’s character, she suggested that the premier may be preventing the implementation of a ceasefire agreement which would end the Swords of Iron War, which is the longest armed conflict for Israel since its War of Independence.

“Netanyahu should go. He is not a trustworthy leader. It was on his watch that the attack happened. He needs to go, and if he’s an obstacle to a ceasefire, if he’s an obstacle to exploring what’s to be done the day after, he absolutely needs to go,” Clinton said during an interview on MSNBC’s Alex Wagner Tonight.

During her tenure with the Obama administration in 2012, Clinton publicly clashed with Netanyahu after the premier announced the expansion of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

In a press statement, Clinton said that the announcement was “insulting,” as then-vice president Joe Biden was visiting the country.

“It was really a very unfortunate and difficult moment for everyone,” she said.

Clinton added via a spokesman that Netanyahu “had undermined trust and confidence in the peace process and in America’s interests.”

Speaking at the Brookings Saban Center – a Middle East-focused think tank – in 2012, Clinton said that Israelis needed to sympathize more with Palestinians.

“There is more that the Israelis need to do to really demonstrate that they do understand the pain of an oppressed people in their minds, and they want to figure out, within the bounds of security and a Jewish democratic state, what can be accomplished,” she said.

In 1999, Clinton attended a speech in Ramallah given by Suha Arafat, the wife of PLO terror head Yasser Arafat.

In her remarks, Suha Arafat falsely claimed that Israel used poisonous gas during military clashes with Palestinians.

Clinton was then photographed kissing Suha Arafat on the cheek after the speech.
