Newly unsealed court documents have brought forth startling claims from a Jeffrey Epstein accuser, Sarah Ransome, who alleged in 2016 that former President Donald Trump had “sexual relations” with one of her friends at Epstein’s New York residence “on regular occasions,” as was revealed on Monday in a report in the New York Post. The documents, part of a defamation lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre against Ghislaine Maxwell in 2015, also mentioned Ransome’s assertion that she possessed video tapes of high-profile individuals, including Trump, engaging in sexual activities, the Post report added.
In a series of emails sent to former New York Post columnist Maureen Callahan in 2016, Ransome made salacious claims about Trump’s alleged involvement with one of her unnamed friends. The report in the Post said that according to the documents,
“She confided in me about her casual ‘friendship’ with Donald. Mr. Trump definitely seemed to have a thing for her and she told me how he kept going on about how he liked her ‘pert nipples,’” Ransome wrote about her friend in one email, made public when the latest batch of newly unsealed documents dropped, as was reported by the Post.
“I also know she had sexual relations with Trump at Jeffery’s NY mansion on regular occasions,” she added.
However, Ransome seemingly walked back these claims in an October 23, 2016 email to Callahan, expressing her desire to retract everything she had previously said. As was indicated in the Post report, in the email, Ransome mentioned concerns about the negative consequences for her family and suggested that “only bad things” would result from going public.
A Virgin Group spokesperson told The Post: “In a New Yorker report published in 2019, Ransome admitted that she had ‘invented’ the tapes. We can confirm that Sarah Ransome’s claims are baseless and unfounded.”
Following the unsealing of the documents, a spokesperson for Virgin Group, representing British business magnate Richard Branson, mentioned that Ransome’s claims were baseless and unfounded. According to the Post report,Trump advisor Steven Cheung issued a statement labeling the accusations as “baseless” and clarified that Ransome had retracted them because they were “simply false and have no merit.” Former President Bill Clinton’s representative, Angel Urena, declined to comment to the Post.
The unsealed documents are part of the defamation lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s associate. The report in the Post said that Giuffre accused Maxwell of defamation for denying her allegations that Maxwell recruited her to be sexually abused by Epstein and his associates.
The unsealed documents also come in the context of Alan Dershowitz, a former Harvard Law School professor, seeking to challenge Ransome’s credibility. As was noted in the Post report, Dershowitz’s lawyers argued that Ransome “manifestly lacks credibility,” aiming to undermine her claims in the ongoing legal proceedings.
According to information in the Post report, a girl, identified only as Jane Doe 3, also accused the Duke of York of engaging in an “orgy” with underage girls during one of his stays on Epstein’s private island in the Caribbean, according to a court filing.
The ongoing legal battles, including defamation lawsuits, continue to shed light on the intricate details of Epstein’s associations and the allegations against those connected to him.
