Thousands of Rabbis to Pray at Sacred Site in Queens for Israel, the Jewish People &Humanity

6,500 Rabbis Convene in NYC for Largest Jewish Leadership Gathering in the U.S

Edited by: TJVNews.com

The Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries’ conference, the largest rabbinic conference in the world, will see 6,500 rabbis and Jewish leaders gather amid unprecedented adversity facing the Jewish people with war in Israel and a massive spike in anti-Semitism.

According to a recent national survey, Chabad rabbis report a massive increase in Jewish engagement and practice. Jews–many of whom were previously not active with the Jewish community, and who consider themselves secular–are reconnecting with their Jewish community and faith in staggering numbers.

At the conference rabbis will chart a path forward in channeling this new-found inspiration to console their communities and help combat global spike in anti-Semitism by leaning into their Judaism and Jewish pride. The mega Jewish event was moved to midday so the 1,400 Chabad rabbis from throughout Israel can participate live while remaining with their communities.

PRAYERS AT NYC SACRED SITE

Queens, N.Y. Resting place of the Rebbe–most influential rabbi of modern history

WHEN: Friday, 10 November, 2023 – 8:00 AM

WHERE: Old Montefiore Cemetery, 226-20 Francis Lewis Blvd, Cambria Heights, Queens, N.Y.

The rabbis will gather to pray for the people of Israel, Jews everywhere and all humanity during this difficult time at the resting place of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory, the most influential rabbi in modern history. The service is being timed to allow rabbis in Israel to join virtually before the onset of Shabbat there.

The Rebbe’s resting place is considered a place of deep spiritual sanctity. Throughout the year, about 400,000 people, Jews and non-Jews, frequent the site, seeking blessings, guidance and spiritual inspiration.

THOUSANDS OF RABBIS POSE FOR MASSIVE PORTRAIT OF JEWISH PRIDE

In the face of adversity, thousands of rabbis pose with confidence

WHEN:  Sunday, 12 November, 2023 – 8:30 AM

WHERE: In front of Chabad-Lubavitch Worldwide HQ – 770 Eastern Parkway, Crown Heights, Brooklyn, N.Y.

Already an iconic New York tradition, with thousands of Hasidic rabbis–clad in traditional garb–posing together, will carry added meaning this year as the Jewish community faces unprecedented adversity. This massive display of Jewish pride sends a message of confidence and strength to Jewish communities around the globe. It’s a high-energy moment and an opportunity to sense the global Jewish awakening of this moment. Here’s what it looked like last year in 2022.

6,500 RABBIS AND JEWISH LEADERS AT CONF GALA

Headline event moved to early afternoon so 1,400 can join virtually from Israel–NY-area’s largest sit-down meal

WHEN: Sunday, 12 November, 2023 – 1:00 – 3:00 PM / International Roll Call and Spirited Hasidic Dancing: 2:30 PM

WHERE: The New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center, 97 Sunfield Ave, Edison, NJ 08837

With 6,500 Chabad-Lubavitch rabbis and lay leaders from around the world (more than 100 countries) in a single room, there is no better time to gauge the global feeling of Jews everywhere in a singular place like at the conference’s gala. The dinner was–when it was dinner–for many years, NYC’s largest, and has now had to move to NJ because of space constraints.

It is also perhaps the only opportunity throughout the year to grasp the magnitude of the global phenomenon of Chabad–the largest Jewish organization in the world–and its impact on millions of Jews everywhere and the broader society and experience some of the spirit driving it.

ABOUT CHABAD-LUBAVITCH:

Chabad-Lubavitch is a philosophy, a movement, and an organization. It is the world’s largest Jewish organization and is considered the most dynamic force in Jewish life today. The organization’s network consists of over 3,500 institutions in more than 100 countries directed by more than 5,800 full-time emissary couples and a workforce that numbers in the tens of thousands.

Dedicated to the spiritual and material welfare of the Jewish people and motivated by respect and affection for each individual, the movement has set into motion an astounding array of innovative programs, services and institutions to serve the needs of Jews everywhere.

The emissaries continue the legacy of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, who spearheaded a global Jewish revival after the Holocaust. Universally known simply as “the Rebbe,” Rabbi Schneerson is considered the most influential rabbi in modern history.

During his lifetime, some of the world’s greatest leaders turned to the Rebbe for advice, and his teachings shaped matters of state and society. Statesmen and artists as diverse as Ronald Reagan, Robert F. Kennedy, Yitzchak Rabin, Shirley Chisholm, Elie Wiesel, Herman Wouk, Arthur Miller, Joe Papp and Bob Dylan are but a small, diverse sampling of the countless who sought his counsel.

Today, twenty-nine years later, a new generation of both Jews and non-Jews seeking to effect positive change are turning to the Rebbe’s teachings for inspiration and guidance.
