A  journalist based in eastern Jerusalem employed by NBC, Marwat al-Azza, was dismissed by the news network following her arrest by Israeli police.

She was charged with inciting terrorism for four Facebook posts mocking victims of the October 7th massacre and praising Hamas terrorists.

An NBC News spokesperson told Fox News Digital, “The investigation of Ms. Azza is unrelated to NBC News. It is based on her personal Facebook posts that predate her time with us as a freelancer. We were not aware of those posts before we engaged Ms. Azza four weeks ago. She will not be contributing to our coverage going forward.”

The 45-year-old journalist was hired by NBC on October 21st, according to an executive in the company who added that her coverage “did not uncover any issues.”

On her personal Facebook page, Azza posted above a photo of an elderly Israeli woman being taken hostage by Hamas terrorists (according to a translation), “I’m dying laughing. It’s black comedy. The old woman is laughing. It’s the last thing that will happen before she dies.”

In another post, she wrote, “Sirens all the time. The Jews are hiding and the Arabs are drinking coffee on the balcony.”

Following a hearing at the Magistrate’s Court, a police representative commented, “These are very serious offenses, especially during wartime. The defendant earns a living in the same country that is under attack, and yet chooses to incite and glorify the terrible acts committed against civilians.”

Marwat al-Azza was “ready for arrest” when the police approached her. She had no cell phone and even wrote telephone numbers on her leg.

Her lawyer pleaded for her release according to any condition, “the court will find appropriate.” The court decided on Friday to extend her detention by five days.

In related news, World Israel News also reported that Norway’s third largest newspaper, Dagbladet, recently ran a story about the Hamas terrorist massacre of Israeli border towns on October 7th, falsely accusing Israel of starting the current war.

This, despite the fact there is video evidence to document the surprise attack of thousands of armed Gaza terrorists.

The Oct 7th invasion was synchronized for an early Sabbath morning on the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah.

After the Palestinian terrorists from Gaza broke through the security fence in dozens of locations and poured into Israel, they brutally attacked thousands of Israelis in their homes—men, women, and children, from mere babies to the elderly.

Over 1,200 Israelis were slaughtered, women were savagely raped, others were tortured, burned alive, or mutilated, and thousands were wounded in the worst attack on Jews since the Holocaust. Over 240 people of all ages were taken hostage to Gaza, where some 239 of them they are still held, their condition and whereabouts unknown.

In retaliation, the IDF is now attacking Gaza, in part to destroy Hamas terror leaders and military strongholds, in part to attempt the rescue of the hostages.

Liad Scharf, an Israeli who formerly resided in Norway took to social media to ask: “How can (Dagbladet) say this?…These correspondents…knew full well they were lying.”

Israeli Ambassador to Norway, Avi Nir-Feldklein, posted on X to condemn the Dagbladet accusation: “…Israel started the war? Who? This 9-month-old baby that was kidnapped by the genocidal #terror organization and being held already for 43 days as hostage? What about respect for #journalism? What about your responsibility (to) your readers and for facts and truth?”
