NY Post Lashes Out at Associated Press for Blaming Ron DeSantis for Florida Racist Murders

Edited by: TJVNews.com

The New York Post has released a scathing op-ed denouncing the Associated Press (AP) for attempting to link Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to a tragic racist murder in Jacksonville, according to a report on the Vois Es Nais web site. The op-ed, titled “AP’s Abhorrent Slander That DeSantis Is Somehow to Blame for a Racist Killing,” lambasts the AP for its biased reporting and accuses the mainstream media outlet of pushing a false narrative, the report added.

The AP article in question, titled “Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Faces Black Leaders’ Anger After Racist Killings in Jacksonville,” drew ire for its implication that Governor DeSantis was somehow personally responsible for the deaths of three African Americans, the VIN report said. The piece quoted a black leader who accused DeSantis of promoting division and hatred that are “anti-Black.” The op-ed highlights the absence of concrete examples of such rhetoric and criticizes the piece for veering into opinion territory, as was noted in the VIN report.

The op-ed begins by questioning the depths to which the media will go to attack Republicans, specifically highlighting the AP’s conduct in this case. According to the VIN report,it accuses the AP of directly attributing the racial killings to DeSantis, a claim that the op-ed characterizes as “disgusting.” The piece further criticizes the involvement of the NAACP and various Florida Democrats in supporting the notion that DeSantis played a role in the racist incident.

According to the op-ed, DeSantis has become a target due to his successful policies in Florida, which have garnered increased support from the black community, as was reported by the VIN website. The piece suggests that Democrats’ desperation is fueling these accusations against the governor.

The article also points out that this incident is part of a pattern of in-your-face bias in the AP’s reporting, noting its alleged history of being critical of conservatives, Republicans, and even Israel.

The AP, as a widely-read news source, plays a significant role in shaping public opinion, and VIN reported that the op-ed accuses the news organization of disseminating what it labels as “vicious, dangerous leftist propaganda.”

Here are several excerpts from the AP article, which disguises itself as a news story but reads like an opinion piece, as was reported by VIN.

“DeSantis is leading his state through the aftermath of a racist attack that left three African Americans dead. Black leaders in Florida — and across the nation — say they’re outraged by his actions and rhetoric ahead of the shooting. “Gov. DeSantis has created and pushed a narrative of division and hate that is anti-Black,” said Rev. Jeffrey Rumlin.

“The tragedy cast a shadow across the Republican presidential campaign this week as candidates faced uncomfortable questions about the party’s increasing appeal among white supremacists and the GOP’s fight against so-called “woke” policies on race and gender. While DeSantis has not mentioned his “war on woke” in recent days, cultural issues have been the centerpiece of his campaign.”

VIN also reported that in response, the Post op-ed piece begins : “How low will the Democrat-supporting media go in attacking Republicans? The Associated Press demonstrates there is no bottom.”

It continues: “An AP article with two “journalists” on the byline… and three more reporters noted at the bottom of the piece, openly accuses Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis of causing the racial killings in Jacksonville.”

The Post op-ed also added that “the piece vaguely refers to “rhetoric” that motivated the shooter but does not provide any examples of it at all because, obviously, there are none.”

The op-ed added, “The far-left NAACP and various Florida Democrats all weighed in to support the “DeSantis is a murderer” thesis. It’s a disgusting charge and part of a pattern of this kind of behavior from the left.”

It said, “DeSantis is a target because he has been massively successful in Florida and his policies have garnered him an increase in the black vote in the last election. Democrats in the Sunshine State are in disarray, and their desperation comes across in blaming the governor for this racist shooting.”

The article continued, “And it’s not just AP. Matt Dixon, largely a stenographer for the Democratic Party in Florida, echoed the same blame game in a piece for NBC News: “Ron DeSantis’ policies toward the Black community are coming under fresh scrutiny.”
