Avalon, NJ, known for its beautiful beaches and upscale atmosphere, is now home to a remarkable modern beach house under construction, listed at a staggering $25 million. This luxurious property, located in the coveted “high dunes” area, sits on three-quarters of an acre and boasts six bedrooms and eight baths.
According to Jack Vizzard, the listing broker from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Avalon has transformed from an ordinary beach town into a prestigious destination comparable to Malibu, West Coast Naples, or even the Hamptons. This beach house, currently the most expensive listing in the state, is designed to cater to executives or public personalities who value their privacy, NY Post reported
The expensive 7,240-square-foot residence at 5499 Dune Drive, designed by architect Mark Asher and constructed by Seaside Development with Kiersten Marie interiors, offers breathtaking panoramic views from its wraparound third-floor deck. With its remarkable design and top-notch craftsmanship, the property is set to impress the discerning buyer.
Avalon, situated on Seven Mile Island in Cape May County alongside Stone Harbor, has recently gained recognition for its high-end real estate market. In fact, a pair of lots in Avalon recently sold for an impressive $21 million. The area has even earned a spot on Property Shark’s list of the country’s most expensive ZIP codes, ranking at No. 82. Within New Jersey, it claims the title of the third most expensive ZIP code for homebuyers.
Notably, Avalon also attracts notable visitors, including television icon Oprah Winfrey and her partner Stedman Graham. Oprah has been known to spend her summers in the area, given Graham’s roots in Cape May County. The allure of Avalon lies not only in its exclusivity but also in its welcoming atmosphere and friendly community. As Vizzard explains, people are drawn to Avalon for its more affordable prices compared to the Hamptons and the genuine kindness of its residents. The town provides a more relaxed and peaceful environment without the hustle and bustle of New York City.
However, as word spreads about Avalon’s charm, Vizzard notes that it has recently gained attention from New York City financial professionals. The prospect of acquiring a $40 million house in the Hamptons for a fraction of the price, ranging from $15 million to $20 million in Avalon, combined with the convenience of a four-lane parkway, makes it an attractive alternative for those seeking an escape from the city.
With its idyllic location, luxurious amenities, and stunning design, this modern beach house in Avalon, NJ, is poised to become an exquisite retreat for the discerning buyer seeking privacy, tranquility, and the epitome of beachfront living.
Geographically part of the South Jersey region, the community is one of the most affluent communities along the Jersey Shore and is home to some of the most expensive real estate on the East Coast. In 2007, Forbes listed Avalon as the 65th most expensive ZIP Code in the United States. Washingtonian “named Avalon the ‘chicest beach’ in the mid-Atlantic.
