Israeli Man Shot and Killed in Hollywood Hills Section of Los Angeles After Dispute at Party

Edited by: TJVNews.com

A 39-year-old Israeli was shot dead in the Hollywood Hills section of Los Angeles at approximately 2 am on June 7th, according to a report on the JNS web site.

The shooting took place in the 7800 block of Fareholm Drive where many nearby houses are worth several million dollars each, JNS reported. The Daily Mail of the UK reported that the home, outside of which the shooting occurred, is worth $1.8 million.

Some Israeli outlets reported that the man was Israeli, originally from Ashkelon. Walla News reported that he lived in the US and had just recently moved from Florida to California.

KTLA, a local television station, identified the victim as Emil Lahaziel. Late Wednesday night, an Israeli official in the United States confirmed to JNS that the Israeli killed was Lahaziel, the JNS report said.

“It was unclear what led up to the shooting or what the relationship was between the gunman and victim,” KTLA reported. The Jerusalem Post reported that investigators believe that the victim was standing in the driveway having an argument with the suspect when the suspect pulled a gun on him and fired. The suspect then fled the scene. No one has been arrested yet.

Hebrew-language media reported that Lahaziel has a criminal past, JNS reported. Husband-and-wife actors Adam DeVine and Chloe Bridges, who live across the street, saw the shooting from their balcony.

“This is a true scary thing that just happened. So across the street they were running this like crazy poker game, right?” DeVine said on a podcast, as was reported by JNS. “People were rolling up in like Lamborghini’s and Bentley’s and Rolls Royce’s.”

The victim was attending a party at the residence, per reports. Some outlets reported that there had been an argument prior to the shooting.

The Times of Israel reported that first responders attempted to revive the victim at the scene but were unsuccessful. Los Angeles is home to one of the larger communities of Israelis in the US
