IDF Kills Two Palestinian Islamic Jihad Members who Carried Out Terrorist Attack on Israeli Settlement

The Israeli army on Saturday morning killed two Palestinian terrorists in Tulkarem, in the Samaria region of the country.  The two terrorists killed were members of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad organization and had carried out an attack earlier this week. Another Palestinian was injured in the Israeli operation, i24 News reported.

Samer A-Shafei and Hamza Hariush, both 22, the terrorists who carried out the shooting attack on Tuesday in Aveni Hafatz were killed in an exchange of fire with Israeli forces. I24News reported. The Jerusalem Post reported that the IDF said the two terrorists were planning further attacks.

The two were affiliated with Islamic Jihad who, along with Hamas, shot more than 100 rockets toward Israel this past week, the JPost reported.

During their attack on Tuesday, the terrorists shot at three vehicles driving through the Maya intersection, wounding one Israeli citizen.  I24News also reported that earlier on Saturday morning, clashes broke out between Israeli forces and Palestinian rioters in the village of Noor Shams near Tulkarem.

The JPost also reported that as well as killing the two terrorists, the IDF also arrested two other men suspected of involvement in the Anei Hafatz attack and they were identified as Muhammad Abd al-Fatah Blidi and Ibrahim Ahmad Kasbah. The JPost reported that the IDF transferred them to the Shin Bet for interrogation.

A number of rifles were also confiscated, one of which was taken from one of the terrorists killed in the raid, the JPost reported.  One man was lightly injured in the terror attack near Avnei Hafetz.

The JPost also reported that a resident of the Avnei Hafatz settlement reported that after she drove out of the settlement, a vehicle exited a nearby Palestinian village and a Palestinian shot towards her before running away from the scene, according to the Samaria Regional Council.
