We Come in All Shapes and Sizes

Dear Editor:

Today we hear too many ill-informed people spouting off on what is, and what is not, anti-Semitism. This is what I tell my Jewish and non-Jewish friends.  Bias is defined by ascribing generalized, stereotyped attributes to an entire group of people, based on a few, who are often very visible, and in the media frequently.  A timely reminder—Jews come in all shapes and sizes!  Some Jews are ultra far left liberal, some plain old-fashioned liberal, some moderate, some conservative, some are secular and some orthodox. As with all other religious and ethnic groups, none are monolithic, that is, within a given group, you will find the usual wide range of opinions, beliefs, practices and affiliations.

So for example, when a Soros supports causes that are so far left your head does the Linda Blair Exorcist spin, many out there think to themselves, ‘well he’s a Jew, and then quietly conclude to themselves, all Jews are like him, ultra liberals’. That is one kind of definition of anti-Semitism, labeling of an entire group of people, based on false inferences from one person or even from a few persons, from that group.

I can assure you there are many thousands of fair minded, common sense “liberal moderates”, middle of the road, Jewish folks out there who reject the Soros-like ultra far left views they see today, who believe in civil rights for all, fair play, common sense equal access and equality for all, as in the school of Martin Luther King Jr. who advocated for us to achieve, to be judged on the content of their character.  I am one of those.

We are entitled to our views on issues. But when our views become biased thinking, when we begin making generalizations about an ethnic or religious group based on the actions of a very visible few, we need to do a reset and question how we came to our conclusions.

Wants Bragg to Prosecute Trump

Dear Editor:

I’m in the minority among my neighbors, relative and co-workers. I like the work of DA Alvin Bragg and I support him in his attempts to lock up Donald Trump. Forget about the fact that Trump paid off a prostitute many years ago and the statute of limitations may be the rule DJT hides behind. I think that he should be prosecuted for his attempt to buy off a witness who would disclose how nuts the guy really is. She would kill his chances of running again in 2024 and that’s a good idea. Let Bragg do his job with the Grand Jury and let’s see what comes out of his mess. My bet is a guilty verdict of mis-use of election funds.

No Fan of Netanyahu

Dear Editor:

How long can Israel remain a nation if it has the likes of Netanyahu in office? He’s a criminal who wants to turn his nation into his own empire. He wants to stack the deck of the Supreme Court with his own nominees and control the government like the dictator he is. He is a danger to the nation and hopefully, the citizens of Israel will come to their senses and remove him for the seat of Prime Minister.

China’s Intervention in the Middle East

Dear Editor:

I’m worried that China has intervened in the Middle East and has brought the Shia Iranians together with the Sunni Saudis in some sort of peace deal. That’s bad for Israel who thought the Saudis would soon join the Abraham Accords. Now that deal could be finished and Israel again would be isolated and surrounded by enemies. How could our own government have stood by and let that happen? We must have known about the negotiations well beforehand. If not, then we’re run by a bunch of incompetents. That must be the answer.

 Thanks,

The Mental State of John Fetterman

Dear Editor:

I’m concerned with the mental state of not only our president, but of the Senator from Pennsylvania, John Fetterman. What is wrong with our voters who vote for candidates who are clearly mentally unfit to serve in any capacity, much less in Congress or the White House? Fetterman will be released soon to resume his duties in the Senate. Can he now understand he spoken word? Does he need an aid to help him to the rest room? Can he pass a driving test? And he’ll be part of the decision making for 350,000,000 of us? Our future is in his hands? Are you kidding?

Biden is clearly “out of it.” He could not be a waiter in a deli, taking orders for a party of six for breakfast. “Dark toast, lightly burned; eggs scrambled soft, hard, medium; omelet with onions; without; not too well done; coffee with milk, cream; what kind of herbal tea? What kind of bagels? Oatmeal with, without milk, Cream of Wheat, raisins on the side? And lastly, “Separate checks for all!”

MLB Infected with Political Correctness

Dear Editor:

The baseball season started last week and for the first time in 70 years, I don’t care one whit about the game, the players or the standings. I’ve been rooting for the Yankees all of this time but no longer. They plan a game in Cuba, with Castro on hand to cheer against us. Obama sat next to him, years ago, during one of these staged “love fests.” The gay symbol on uniforms will surely be an issue this season. The NHL already had this sham nearly destroy the league. Will the National and American leagues do the same? The Super Bowl had the black national anthem sung. What does that have to do with the game or for that matter, the nation? Let’s see if Native Americans can do one of their ritual dances during the Seventh Inning Stretch.

Frankly, I’m looking into this “equity” thing where in NYC 9% of the Mets and Yankee players and staff would have to be Jewish to “reflect the population.” Let’s all cheer for Jewish Affirmative Action in baseball. ‘Til then, “bye-bye baseball!”
