China Now “Owns” the Middle East
The March 10th announcement by China that it had brokered a deal` between Saudi Arabia and Iran to initiate diplomatic relations and exchange security assurances with one another, did not receive much notice in the Far Left American media, but it was a big deal to anyone concerned about the slow dissolution of liberty and freedom around the world. And it indicated how quickly our nation’s strength, reliability and stature around the globe has sunk. It has reached rock bottom. As one noted authority put it, “China’s prestigious accomplishment vaults it into a new league diplomatically and outshines anything the U.S. has been able to achieve in the region since Biden came to office.” We’ll go one better. “The Chinese are now the King of the Hill, internationally.” Face it….our nation and Israel have suddenly been put on the sidelines, watching as two former enemies, both despotic regimes, have brought together by a third. And by the way, Iran’s surrogates in Yemen are still battling the forces of Saudi Arabia to take it down. Go figure that one out.
And look what China has accomplished. The deal shows has China is using diplomatic, not military might, to bind together nations on the other side of the world, bowing to its economic strength. It has indicated that it is a “peaceful” power to be reckoned with and it has been successful in mediating a major regional dispute shoving the U.S. aside as major player in the region. This follows up on our disgraceful retreat from Afghanistan indicating our weakness and inability to be a prime factor in that crucial area. And since President Biden messed up our relationship with Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, by calling him a “murderer,” we are now a dispensable item. They dislike us. Brilliantly, China has more than filled the vacuum. In fact, Xi Jinping, claims that China should, “actively participate in the reform and construction of the global governance system” and promote, “global security initiatives.” Sounds like words once uttered in the White House.
For Iran, bogged down by former President Trump’s tight embargoes on its oil exports, its now close economic ties with China, opens up economic opportunities for mammoth sales of its carbon based product to an oil thirsty giant who will gobble up millions of barrels daily, while the “global warming” worried West goes windmill and solar, all requiring products of China. A win-win for them. And now Iran no longer needs to kiss our butt for a re-opening of the Obama-Iran Deal that Trump killed. China can give them whatever it needs to build a nuclear weapon. With China by its side, Iran can now look to expand its influences in its own neighborhood. We’re gone.
But where does this China-Iran-Saudi deal leave Israel? It signals the end of the Abraham Accords that glued together the UAE, Bahrain and Morocco, with the Saudis soon to have joined. This movement to bring together former enemies is now dead in the water. Israel will again be isolated in the region. What if China now reaches out a helping hand to the Palestinians to embarrass the U.S. and its only ally in the region, Israel? If there were any intelligent minds rattling around in the White House, this move by China to incorporate the Middle East into its harem, should cause us to reach out in a more friendly manner to Israel to ensure it will not join the Saudis in seeking a friendship bond with China. Biden’s hard line stance with Netanyahu may cause Bibi to think twice about joining with the growing super power in the world and end the 75 year love affair with us. After all, the current crisis in Israel has been blamed on the United States and if we are no longer a trusted ally and partner, where else can the Israelis go? We’re too frightened to seek the answer.
