The once beloved children’s legacy of Disney, founded in 1923 by Mr. Walt Disney and his brother Roy, has derailed to include toxic woke messages targeting youngsters.

As reported by the NY Post, critics are slamming Disney for a continuous stream of “anti-white”, and “woke” agendas, as well as bombarding children with the need to make “reparations” for slavery. Taking the form of cartoon characters and colorful pictures, our children are being exposed to politics and social justice messages. In the latest stint, critics say an episode of “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder,” which airs on Disney’s streaming service Disney+, included a clip all about slavery and systemic racism. The lively animated characters were singing a tune about how America has “still not atoned for” enslaving African Americans.

“Slaves built this country and we the descendants of slaves in America have earned reparations for their suffering and continue to earn reparations every moment we spend submerged in a systemic prejudice, racism and white supremacy that America was founded with and still has not atoned for,” the animated characters chanted. The video was shared on Twitter by the “End Wokeness” account, with a caption that read, “Blatant anti-white propaganda.” The clip continued with the song saying it was the abolitionists who fought to end slavery and bring awareness to the public before Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation ending slavery.
“We had Tubman, Turner, Frederick D. Then they say Lincoln freed the slaves, but slaves were men and women and only we can free ourselves. Emancipation is not freedom,” the characters sang. “Jim Crow, segregation, redlining, public schools feeding private prisons where we become slaves again.”
Per the Post, the clip was re-shared by conservative writer Christopher Rufo, who called it “pure critical race theory”, adding that it includes “the insane conspiracy theory that Lincoln did not free the slaves.” Other parents and users also decried the episode and its ramifications. “This is toxic, divisive, and destructive,” one Twitter user commented in the replies. Multiple comments accused Disney of forcing a “woke” agenda down children’s throats.
Of course, there were also some comments praising the clip. “Thanks for sharing, absolutely excellent clip. How great to see the truth of history in a way kids can understand,” one person wrote.
The show, featuring animated preteens, all of whom but one are black, repeatedly sing, “Slaves built this country”. The song also includes a blatant request for reparations, which activists have pushed–saying the US government should make financial restitution to the descendants of enslaved people. “We’ll take the 40 acres, keep the mule,” the characters sang in the episode. “We made your families rich – from the southern plantation heirs to the northern bankers to the New England ship owners, the founding fathers, former presidents, current senators…”
For the past three years, critics say Disney has pursued woke ideologies in numerous forms throughout the company. Per the Daily Mail, particularly offensive points included a gay kiss between two female characters in the 2022 family movie Lightyear; a debuted new look for Minnie Mouse for 2022 in a pantsuit, replacing the nearly-100-year-old character’s famous red bow; and adding racism warnings before their decade-old movies when played on their streaming service. The disclaimers have been added to countless Disney classics, including Aladdin, Dumbo, Jungle Book, Peter Pan, The Aristocats, Lady and the Tramp, Swiss Family Robinson, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The message reads: ‘This program includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now. Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together.’
Even in the Disney parks, reports say that employees were giving anti-racism training. As per the Daily Mail, in May 2021, Walt Disney World park employees were asked to complete a ‘privilege checklist.’ As part of a ‘diversity and inclusion’ program, named Reimagine Tomorrow, staffers were taught about ‘systematic racism,’ ‘white fragility,’ and ‘microaggressions.’ White employees were asked to “work through feelings of guilt, shame, and defensiveness to understand what is beneath them and what needs to be healed”, as per leaked documents shared by Rufo. The leaked training documents also included list entitled, ‘75 Things White People Can Do for Racial Justice’.
Public out roar ensued with Twitter users saying the brand has turned into ‘wokest Place on Earth’ rather than the ‘happiest place on Earth’. The program was reportedly cancelled days after the documents were leaked to the public. In March 2022, however, the Disney parks adapted new instructions for staff members, including gender neutral greetings. Guests throughout the parks, could no longer be addressed with ‘gendered greetings’ like ‘boys and girls’ or ‘ladies and gentleman.’ Recordings and staffers now used gender neutral terms like, ‘Hello, everyone,’ or, ‘Hello, friends.’
“Walt would turn over in his grave to see what his beloved company has become,” commented Ohio mother and grandmother Patti Garibay, who suggested people “void your household of all things Disney.”
