Mayor Adams Speaks:
Supporting NYC’s Asylum Seekers

Dear Editor:

New York is a city of immigrants. We are made up of hundreds of cultures, more than 700 languages, and people born in more than 150 countries. Immigrants keep our cultural life vibrant and our economy running strong. They are the past, present, and future of New York City.

As New Yorkers as know, we have seen an influx of asylum seekers arriving in our city over the past several months. Migrants from the United States’ Southern border have been placed on buses and sent to our streets in record numbers.

New York City is doing everything in our power to support the newly arrived asylum seekers. We are working around the clock to provide medical care, food, and a safe place to stay. In the past weeks, my Administration has set up 48 emergency shelter sites. We have opened a navigation center to offer case management, settlement options, vaccinations, and more. As of October 12, we have provided assistance to over 19,400 asylum seekers.

But New York City is running out of space in our shelter system. We are now housing a record number of people—and more are arriving every single day. We expect to spend more than $1 billion this fiscal year on support. This is putting a strain on our resources as we continue to provide essential services like education, healthcare, and sanitation to the 8.8 million New Yorkers who are already here and who rely on us for essential services. We need more help to fund all of these priorities. That’s why I have asked the federal government and the State of New York for assistance.

But let me be clear: we will not give up. We will not change our fundamental values. We will continue to support those who arrive on our city’s shores.

I want to thank every New Yorker who has volunteered their time and opened their hearts to help our newly arrived brothers and sisters. I also want to recognize our city agencies who have gone above and beyond in the face of this unprecedented event. New Yorkers have risen to the occasion, as they always do. I am so grateful to everyone who has been part of the response.

New Yorkers know that diversity is our strength, and it is my privilege to celebrate all of our cultures as your mayor. Just this weekend, I joined our Italian community to celebrate the contributions of Italians and Italian-Americans to our city. Every borough and every block in this city has benefited from their hard work and community spirit.

Whether we are Italian, Venezuelan, or Indian we all share a title: we’re New Yorkers. We’re made from the best stuff on earth.

Sincerely
NYC Mayor Eric Adams

Make Your Voice Heard at the Ballot Box

Dear Editor:

President Biden is not on the ballot next month, but his congressional allies and supporters are. They represent him on the ballots. They must ALL be voted down and replaced with conservatives who will see to it that his horrible policies he’s promulgated for nearly two years are tossed out.

We are headed for a military or financial doomsday if the Democrats are re-elected. They have no sense of concern for their constituents. Fetterman, the current Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania, has done what for the state while in his current office? What has he ever done? Nothing.

Currently, he is incapable of even reading. His brain, is malfunctioning due to a stroke. There is no way to determine if he will ever reclaim full use of his mental capabilities. If he represents us in the Senate, of what use will he be to the nation? But he’ll be one of the most 100 powerful people in the country.

Are the voters of Pennsylvania willing to give this guy that kind of power with the understanding he’s incapable of rational thinking or decision making? Sounds crazy to me.

Sincerely
Morris Bloomberg, Phd
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The New Female Victims

Dear Editor:

What does AOC, Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris & Eliz Warren have in common? AOC accuses America of not liking women of color and refusing to elect a female for president. No AOC, we would reject you because you lack basic knowledge of foreign and domestic affairs, have blood on your ignorant hands for calling for defunding police and smear Israel with your Squad.

Elizabeth Warren whines if she was a man, she would have been elected president. No Elizabeth, we didn’t vote for you because we don’t like you. We don’t like your phony persona. We reject your anti-Israel biased threats and your hard core, far left agenda.

Hillary Clinton laments her gender and blames it for her many failures. No Hillary, we didn’t elect you because we didn’t trust or really like you. We think you are unethical and will say and do whatever it takes to get ahead. You have a Nixon-like smell of distrust about you.

Kamala Harris loves to blame the media, her gender and color for any criticism of her. No, Kamala, we are critical of you because you are out of your depth and incompetent. You were put in charge of our borders yet when asked why you hadn’t even visited one border, you giggled and said, ‘well, I haven’t been to Europe either.’  We listen to you carefully. We hear and see you speak in gobbledygook, say nothing, babbling on sentences, repeating meaningless phrases over and over. We reject your obscene calling for Florida’s hurricane victims to be based on color and women first, rather than neediest.

America is ready and desperate for a female, a male, anyone who is articulate, well read, experienced and who can unite all of us, who is moderate and rejects the far left and the far right. Stop the whining. Take a good, hard look in the mirror. And go find a female worthy of our vote. Guess what: It’s not any of you.

Sincerely
Ginette Weiner

Taxpayer $$$ Spent on Ukraine

Dear Editor:

What to make of our contributions to Ukraine, militarily and financially? What relationships have there been or even still are, between the oligarchs of that country and the Biden family? Just how much of our aid goes to help the Ukrainians fight off the Russians? And just how many of our taxpayer $$$ end up in Swiss bank accounts?

Too many questions to expect any answers from our government. Only time will tell if we’ve supported the war effort or the retirement incomes for that nation’s rulers.

Sincerely
Harry Bittleman
