Homeless Man Kills Park Slope Woman’s Dog; Forum Exposes “Woke” Ideology

A bizarre incident in the most liberal, progressive area in the city has turned neighbors against each other, as they learn to cope with their ideology vs reality.

The NY Times reported:

On Aug. 3, Jessica Chrustic, 40, a professional beekeeper, was walking her dog in Prospect Park a little after 6 a.m. when she saw a man rifling through the garbage outside the Picnic House. She had seen the man before — tall, with dreadlocks wrapped in a turban, carrying a long staff and often muttering to himself or cursing — and she usually kept her distance. But this morning there was no room to avoid him……  he started yelling about immigrants taking over the park, then grabbed a bottle of what she later concluded was urine and sloshed it at her and her dog. She tried to run away, but Moose, her 80-pound golden retriever mix, was straining toward the man, trying to protect her.

The homeless maniac ended up swinging a stick at the dog, and damaging the dog’s teeth and mouth, a few days later the dog passed away from sepsis.

The progressive, and woke stupes in Park Slope now had a quandary on their hands, do they sympathize with the homeless maniac because he has dark skin, or do they sympathize with the woman and her slaughtered pet? According to their woke ideology, a black person can do no wrong and his aggression towards the woman was the result of hundreds of years of “slavery” and “colonizers” in a bigoted and hateful America, but what about the innocent dog?

NY Times reported:

“It’s complicated,” said S. Matthew Liao, a professor of bioethics, philosophy, and public health at New York University. “It’s a conflict of values, between wanting security and social justice. Everybody has a responsibility in some ways.

“There are a bunch of issues here, a bunch of threats,” he added. “We can deal with them in a compassionate way, or a not compassionate way.”

The subject of the vile homeless maniac and Ms. Chrustic’s victim dog became a hot topic on popular app Next Door. Next Door has forums where people talk about local community issues, and far left ideologues consider it sometimes quite racist because sometimes people discuss crimes, and discussing crime committed by criminals with a darker skin complexion is considered “racism”. Women who complain about black crime are considered “Karens”.

NY Times explains that leftist critics say, “platform really propagated was white fear”. In the disturbing, fantasy world of far-left ideology, white people should either ignore black crime and pretend it does not exist or embrace it and consider it a part of “equity”. Discussing crime and neighborhood decay to a woke ideologue is taboo.

NY Times humorously reported:

When Ms. Chrustic posted about the attack, the first responses were mostly notes of condolence and support. People with dogs posted that they had seen the man in the same area where she was attacked — why weren’t the police arresting him? Donations poured in to offset her veterinary bills.

The entire incident brought out lots of viewpoints on the Next Door forum and displayed the disconnect progressives often have from reality and how these radical ideologues are willing to justify crime and accept a mad man in a park attacking people with urine and worse because their rigid, flawed, and idiotic ideology tells them so. The NY Times quotes one Next Door user who captured the mentally ill “woke” ideology perfectly.

Martin Lofsnes, 52, a dancer and choreographer was appalled by the vitriol directed at an impoverished man, and by what he called “this vigilante attitude.”

He urged people on the thread to put their emotions aside and consider “400 yrs of systematic racism which has prevented black people from building generational wealth through homeownership resulting in the extreme disparity we see today.” Arresting the man, he wrote, would solve none of that.

This bizarre incident brought to light the sickness that is “wokeness”.
