With November around the corner, NY Governor Hochul and Republican challenger Lee Zeldin still have not agreed on how many debates will be held, leading up to election day.

Gov. Kathy Hochul who is still up in the tightening polls,  bid to have only one debate before the election, and Zeldin is not happy with her plan.

“I am rejecting that offer and I am suggesting that the governor needs to come back with an offer to do multiple debates across the entire state,” Zeldin said during a press briefing.

“One debate is unacceptable. I’m calling on Kathy Hochul to come out of hiding.”

NY Post reported:

After facing “Scaredy Kat” criticism for weeks, Hochul on Wednesday finally agreed to face Zeldin on Oct. 25, at a debate co-sponsored by Pace University and cable TV’s Spectrum News NY1 — just four days before the start of early voting on Oct. 29.

Hochul does appear to be worried about possibly losing the election.

One look at her recent commercials airing on local television show a desperate politician unleashing a vicious tirade of lies against her opponent. Recent polls show Zeldin within 4-5 points of the incumbent, and New Era Democrats, a political club based in Brooklyn, recently endorsed Zeldin. This unusual endorsement has raised some eyebrows.

“Governor Hochul looks forward to debating on Oct. 25 and highlighting the clear contrast between her strong record of delivering results and Lee Zeldin’s extreme agenda,” her campaign spokesman Jerrel Harvey said.

Hochul’s record has been obscured by the local media in NY State, which consists of journalists who are 95% Democrats. There is no possibility a Democrat will be covered fairly in a state dominated by the Democrat party. The media, with the exception of the NY Post and Albany Times Union and occasionally the NY Times have buried two major scandals hanging over the incumbent.

NY Post points out:

Hochul, has been on the defensive since it was revealed in July that New Jersey-based Digital Gadgets was paid $637 million to supply the state with 52 million COVID-19 test kits.  The consumer technology company is owned by Manhattan resident Charlie Tebele, who, with his family, has contributed about $330,000 to Hochul’s campaign.

This obvious pay to play scandal, has received zero coverage on local TV and print media outside of the Post and the Albany Times Union.

NY Post reported:

Tebele’s no-bid contracts charged New York an average of $12.25 per kit, over 80% more than the $6.75 that California paid for the exact same at-home rapid tests, according to the Albany Times Union, which first exposed the deal.

Earlier this week, the paper also revealed Hochul suspended competitive-bidding rules for the purchase of pandemic-related supplies just four days after Tebele hosted a Nov. 22 fundraiser for her.

Another major issue Hochul has managed to escape from is her former Lt. Governor who resigned in disgrace earlier in the year.

Amazingly no New Yorkers actually know this happened. Broadcast media like ABC CBS NBC and NY1 ignored the entire event, and only a few articles in print media covered this major news article.

Lt. Gov. Brian A. Benjamin of New York resigned in April hours after federal prosecutors unsealed an indictment implicating him in a brazen scheme to enrich his political campaigns with illegal donations, according to the NY Times.

Gov. Kathy Hochul, who selected Mr. Benjamin to be her lieutenant governor less than a year ago, announced that he was stepping down immediately “while the legal process plays out.”

The five-count indictment charging Mr. Benjamin said that while he was a state senator, he had conspired to direct $50,000 in state funds to a Harlem real estate developer’s charity. In exchange, the developer gathered thousands of dollars in illegal contributions to Mr. Benjamin’s 2020 Senate campaign and his unsuccessful 2021 bid for New York City comptroller, the indictment said.

“Let’s be realistic, most people do not read every article in print media for local news, they briefly glance at cable and local 5PM newscasts. Most people have no idea Hochul’s handpicked Lt Gov resigned after serious charges, the debates present an opportunity for Zeldin to inform New York state exactly what Hochul is, a corrupt politician, it’s not a shock she is running away from debates”, a local Republican activist told TJV.
